Mark Cory Rooney was born in 1968 in Jamaica, Queens, New York City USA, and is a record producer as well as a songwriter. He has produced and written songs for such well known artists as Jennifer Lopez, Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey and many others. Rooney is also the CEO of the Cory Rooney Group. Cory has been active in the entertainment industry since 1989.

In 1994, Rooney became the vice president of A&R at Epic Records, then took the position of VP at Crave Records as well as Senior VP at Sony Music Entertainment. During that time, Cory wrote and produced such well known songs as “The Roof (Back in Time)” (1997) and “Babydoll” (1997) sung by Mariah Carey. Among others, he has also produced “Sail On” (1998) by Destiny’s Child and has written “If You Had My Love” and “Feelin’ So Good” (both 1999) by Jennifer Lopez.

Finally, he was offered the position of senior executive and producer at Sony as well as at Casablanca Records. Talking about the artists he produced, Rooney wrote and produced Marc Anthony’s album “Mended” (2003), which has been certified gold in the US and platinum in Canada, as well as topped the music charts in those countries. Cory has also written and produced the fourth studio album “Rebirth” (2005) and sixth studio album “Brave” (2007) by Jennifer Lopez. The albums became respectively platinum in USA, Canada and multi-platinum in Russia. Rooney also worked with the eighth studio album of the above mentioned artist – “A.K.A.” (2014).

What is more, Rooney has produced not only singers but also television series. The list of the series includes “Born to Diva” and “The Shop”. Furthermore, Cory Rooney launched Cory Rooney Group, his own company which works with producers, writers and artists. The above mentioned company targets are publishing, fashion, television.
