Margaret Ann “Peggy” Lipton Wiki Biography

Margaret Ann Lipton is a New York City-born American actress and former model, perhaps best known for her role as Julie Barnes, the flower child in the television show “The Mod Squad”. Born on 30 August 1946, Lipton hails from a Russian-Jewish family and is one of the most famous Hollywood actresses, Peggy has been active as a professional actress since 1965.

A well-known actress who has managed to succeed not only on television but also in Hollywood, it is normal to wonder how rich she is at the present? As of early 2016, Peggy counts her net worth at the amount of $3 million. Needless to say, her involvement in the film industry as an actress for more than the past four decades has been the most significant in making her a multi-millionaire as of now.

Raised in New York in an upper middle-class family, Peggy attended Lawrence Junior High School as well as Professional Children’s School. She started her career as a model at the age of fifteen when her father, Harold Lipton arranged a job for her as a model at the Ford Agency. Meanwhile, she also took acting classes with her mother’s encouragement. After a successful early career as a model, Peggy went to Los Angeles with her family, and made her TV debut in the sitcom “The John Forsythe Show” at the age of nineteen in 1965.

As an actress, Peggy has a remarkable career in Hollywood as well as American television. She has been a part of several Hollywood movies, including “Mosby’s Marauders”, “A Boy… A Girl”, “Purple People Eater”, “True Identity”, “The Postman”, “When In Rome” and several more during her career. Of course, being a part of all of these movies paid quite a lot to Peggy.

Through Hollywood, Lipton has also managed to have a great career as a television actress. Since her debut, Peggy has appeared in numerous television shows and series which include “The Virginian”, “Twin Peaks”, “The Mod Squad”, “Justice For Annie: A Moment Of Truth Movie” and “Alias” among others. More recently, she has shown her performance in television series like “Crash”, “House Of Lies”, “Psych”, “Crash” and several more. Among all these projects, Peggy is most remembered for her roles in “The Mod Squad” and “Twin Peaks”. For her contributions to acting, she has also won a Golden Globe Award for Best TV Actress in a Drama in 1971.

As for her personal life, following a somewhat drug- and sex-riddled period in the 1960s and ’70s, Peggy leads her life as a divorcee at the present. Previously married to the famous musician and producer Quincy Jones(1974-90), Peggy is mother to two actresses Rashida and Kidada Jones. Also interested in singing, Peggy has sung various famous singles including “Stoney End”. As of now, Peggy enjoys her life as one of the most successful television actresses as well as a prominent name in Hollywood. On top of that, her present net worth of $3 million caters to her daily life in every possible way.
