Lorenzen Vern-Gagne Wright was born on 4 November 1975, in Oxford, Mississippi USA, to Deborah Marion and Herb Wright. He was a professional basketball player, best known for playing at the forward and center positions for the Los Angeles Clippers, Memphis Grizzlies, Atlanta Hawks, Sacramento Kings and Cleveland Cavaliers in the National Basketball Association (NBA). His death by a murderer in 2010 has remained a mystery.

Wright grew up in Oxford; his parents separated during his childhood years, but both of them remained active in his life – his father is was a former professional basketball player. During his teenage years Wright moved to Memphis, where he was educated at Booker T. Washington High School, playing for the school’s basketball team. Being a McDonald’s All-American, he enrolled at the University of Memphis, joining university Tigers, where he established himself as a valuable player, achieving All-American status, All-Great Midwest Conference and All-Conference USA honors. He was also selected a Third Team All-America by the Associated Press, and participated in the team’s two consecutive NCAA Tournament wins in 1995 and ‘96.
In 1996 Wright was selected in the first round as the seventh overall pick by the Los Angeles Clippers in the NBA Draft – his net worth started to grow. Upon finding the body, the police revealed he had called 911 seconds before being shot, and was actually speaking with the dispatcher when gunshots rang out. When it comes to his private life, Wright was married to Sherra Robinson Wright. They had six children together, among them a daughter who died of SIDS in 2003 at 11 months. The couple eventually split up, but reconciled only to separate again, and divorced shortly before his death in 2010.
