Have you ever wondered how rich Lizz Winstead is? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that the total size of Lizz’s net worth is over $15 million, as of late 2017, accumulated through her successful involvement in the entertainment industry which has been active since the early ‘80s.
Lizz Winstead was raised in a Catholic family in her hometown, the youngest child of Wilbur and Ginny Winstead, but there is no other information in the media, or about her education.
She made her debut as a stand-up comedian in 1983 at the Brave New Workshop in her hometown, but not until four years later did she debut on TV, in the special “Women of the Night”, while in 1993 she worked on a talk show “The Jon Stewart Show”, and two years later appeared in the Aspen Comedy Festival. Slowly Lizz started getting more attention, which resulted in a writing job for Comedy Central and its shows “Women Aloud”, and then in 1996 she co-created the comedy talk and news program “The Daily Show”, with Madeleine Smithberg. Craig Kilborn was the host of the show, unfortunately, Lizz had a terrible disagreement with Kilborn in 1998, which resulted in her departure from the show, but which largely increased her wealth, and she returned to her position in 2004, further increasing her net worth. During the ‘90s she was also the head writer for several TV specials, including “Unauthorized Biography: Milo, Death of a Supermodel” (1997), and “The Ms. Foundation’s Women of Comedy” (1998), which also added to her wealth.
Since the start of the 2000s, Lizz has frequently made guest appearances in numerous variety shows and documentaries, such as “Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn” (2002), “America Undercover” (2005), “The Battle for Late Night” (2010), then “Melissa Harris-Perry” (2012-2014), and will feature in the documentary “The Girl in the Show”, which will be released late in 2017.
Lizz also was one of the key people who started Air America Radio in 2003, and in addition to co-founding the network, Lizz was also program director, and co-hosted the morning show “Unfiltered” until March 2005, when she left the radio network.
Since leaving Air America Radio, Lizz has held a blog in the Huffington Post, and in 2012 she published her autobiography “Lizz Free or Die”, the sales of which also added a considerable amount to her wealth.
Regarding Lizz Winstead’s personal life, there is no information about any relationships in the media, as she tends to keep her most intimate details hidden from public eyes. In her spare time, she is very active on her official Twitter account, where she has more than 125,000 followers.
