Lisa Deshaun Leslie was born on the 7th July 1972, in Gardena, California, USA of African and American ancestry. She is a retired professional women’s basketball player, who played in the position of center for the Los Angeles Sparks, the team of the WNBA. Her career was active from 1997 to 2009. Currently, she is a sports analyst for Fox Sports Net, and ABC, and is the owner of the Sparks and the Lisa Leslie Basketball & Leadership Academy.

While in college, Lisa had a tremendous career, playing a total of 120 games, in which she averaged 20.1 points, with a record of 89 wins and 31 losses. During her time at the USC, Leslie earned several recognitions, including the Rookie Of The Year award, and National Player of the year in 1994.

Lisa’s professional began in 1996, as she participated in the first ever WNBA Draft, being selected as the 7th overall pick by the Los Angeles Sparks. However, her professional debut was with the USA Women Basketball team at the 1996 Olympic Games held in Atlanta, where she won her first gold medal. Leslie was also on the team in Olympic Games held in Sydney, Athens, and Bejing, in which she also won the gold medal, becoming one of only two players to have four gold medals from Olympic Games.

To speak of her career in the WNBA, she debuted in 1997, when the league started. She stayed with the Los Angeles Sparks until the end of her playing career in 2009, having quite a successful career, winning two WNBA Championships in 2001 and 2002. She was also named the MVP of the WNBA finals, and was the MVP of the league three times, in 2001, 2004, and 2006. Leslie also made eight WNBA All-Star appearances, from 1999 to 2003 consecutively, and in 2005, 2006, and 2009. Thanks to her great performances, Leslie’s net worth also benefited, from a new contract she signed with the Sparks, prolonging her stay with the team. To speak further of her accomplishments, she was also the WNBA Defensive player of the year twice, in 2004, and 2008.
