Leslie Eileen Easterbrook Wiki Biography
Leslie Eileen Easterbrook was born on 29 July 1949, in Los Angeles, California USA, and is an actress best known for her role of Officer Debbie Callahan in the “Police Academy” franchise.
So just how rich is Leslie Easterbrook? According to sources, Easterbrook has earned a net worth over $1.5 million, as of early 2017. The main source of her wealth has been her acting career, which began in the early ‘80s.
Easterbrook was adopted by Carl and Helen Easterbrook, a couple from rural Arcadia, Nebraska, and it was there that she grew up. She attended Kearney High School in Kearney, Nebraska, and after matriculating in 1967, she enrolled at Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri.
One of her first notable roles came in 1980, playing a nurse in the comedy film “Just Tell Me What You Want”, then making a guest appearance in the television sitcom “Me and Maxx”. The same year she landed a part in the hit ABC sitcom “Laverne & Shirley”, as Rhonda Lee, a trumpet-playing neighbor who lives next to the couple, which enabled her to gain much needed recognition among audiences, paving her way to greater fame. She remained on the show for three years, until its cancellation in 1983. Her wealth began to rise.
The following year she landed the role which would shoot her to stardom, being cast as Sergeant Debbie Callahan in the comedy film “Police Academy”. The highly acclaimed and commercially successful film, consisting of low brow humor, sexual innuendo and physical comedy, spawned six sequels by mid ’90, with Easterbrook appearing in every one of them except the second film, and Easterbrook’s performance as the blonde bombshell Callahan became her most widely known and most memorable role, which brought her an astonishing popularity with audiences around the world and which provided her with a considerable boost to her net worth.
In the meantime, she had her hand in other projects as well. She appeared in the 1985 comedy “Private Resort”, and in the 1988 TV film “The Taking of Flight 847: The Uli Derickson Story”. She made appearances in a number of series as well, including “Baywatch”, “Murder, She Wrote”, “Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper”, “Matlock”, “Diagnosis Murder”, “Ryan’s Hope”, “Hunter” and “The Dukes of Hazzard”. All contributed to her wealth.
During the early 2000s, Easterbrook landed smaller parts in films like “Maniacts”, “Murder at the Presidio”, “Cartel 1882” and “House”. She starred as Mother Firefly in the Rob Zombie horror film “The Devil’s Rejects”, replacing Karen Black, and later appeared in another Zombie’s slasher film, “Halloween”. She went on to appear in films such as “Compound Fracture”, “Lavalantula” and “Daddy”. Her most recent roles were in the 2016 films “Alabama Dirt” and “Greater”, all adding steadily to her net worth.
Easterbrook has also done some voice-over work, such as in the “Superman and Batman: The Animated Series”. In addition, she has gathered some stage experience, having had starring roles in several Broadway musicals. Speaking of her vocals, it is probably worth to mention that Easterbrook was chosen to sing the National Anthem at Super Bowl XVII back in the ’80s, and that she has recorded a song for the soundtrack of the last sequel of “Police Academy”.
Being a member of National Rifle Association, the actress has served on the board of directors of the California Rifle and Pistol Association. She has also released a video called “Real Beginner’s Guide to the Shotgun Sports”, encouraging viewers for their first shooting experience.
Speaking about her private life, in 1979 Easterbrook married Victor Holchak, but the couple eventually divorced and she later married producer Dan Wilcox.
The actress serves on the board of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, and is involved in numerous charities.
