Leah Marie Remini Wiki Biography

Leah Marie Remini was born on 15 June 1970, in Bensonhurst, New York City USA, of Italian (father) and Austrian-Jewsih (mother) descent, and is an actress and model,  perhaps still best known from her role in Martin Cohan’s long-running TV sitcom “Who’s the Boss?” which aired from 1984 until 1994.

How rich is Leah Remini? Leah’s net worth is estimated to be $20 million as of late 2015, her wealth having been accumulated mostly from her career as an actress, but also as a model, now spanning almost 30 years since her professional debut in 1988.

At 13 Leah moved to Los Angeles with her mother, and then began her acting career in the late ’80s with appearances in several TV shows, making her debut in “Who’s the Boss?”, and following in a spin-off entitled “Living Dolls”, a situation comedy alongside Halle Berry, but which received negative reviews and was soon cancelled. Leah Remini then appeared in other short-lived TV shows such as Shelley Jensen’s “First Time Out” and Arleen Sorkin’s “Fired Up”, then in 1991 appeared as Stacey Carosi in several episodes of the NBC sitcom “Saved by the Bell”. Her net worth was rising steadily.

However, it was the role of Carrie Heffernan in the CBS’ sitcom “The King of Queens” that gained Remini public recognition, and increased her net worth considerably, as the show ran for nine seasons until 2007. During the filming of the series, Remini also made an appearance in the comedy film “Old School” in 2003 alongside Will Ferrell, Luke Wilson, Mac Miller, Vince Vaughn, and Jeremy Piven, and since the ending of the series has appeared in a variety of series, including the webisodes of “In the Motherhood” with Cheryl Hines and Jenny McCarthy. She has also made two guest appearances on “Chelsea Lately”, hosted by Chelsea Handler.

In 2011, Remini signed a contract with ABC studios, and a year later announced her appearance in the ABC sitcom “Family Tools”, a remake of the UK series “White Van Man” which, however, lasted for only one season.

Leah Remini also co-hosted the CBS show “The Talk” in 2010, with Leslie Moonves’ wife Julie Chen, actresses Sara Gilbert, Holly Robinson Peete, and Ozzy Osbourne’s wife and a television host Sharon Osbourne. However, Remini received a lot of negative feedback from the audience and critics, accused of being too loud and obtrusive, which resulted in her being fired from the show after its first season in rather acrimonious circumstances. Nevertheless, Leah Remini continues to appear on television, including in reality series and game shows, and her net worth shows that she leads a reasonably successful and profitable career in the entertainment business.

In her personal life, Leah has been married to Angelo Pagan since 2003; they have a daughter. Having entered the Church of Scientology with her mother when a teenager, Leah left in 2013, voicing dissatisfaction with the hierarchy and various policies.

  • I’m not a neat freak. I don’t mind things being messy but I mind them being dirty. I just can’t relax in a dirty environment. I like things organized.
  • I always was trying to make people laugh as a kid. I was a big fan of Carol Burnett and Gilda Radner. I watched them and I remember feeling as a child, when I heard the laughter they got, a little jealous that they made someone laugh like that.
  • Are you trying to give me a hint that I should drop it? I can lose the accent; I just have to really focus on what I’m saying. And I have to talk slowly.
  • I used to do skits for my mom… and I was always entertaining as a kid.
  • Men have just come up to me and asked for my number right away. That doesn’t work. You have to know somebody and have a conversation.
  • Men stop trying after a while and get lazy.
  • The guy has to kill the spider and get the dead mouse outta the pool.
  • There’s a lot involved in going to the bathroom for women.
  • I love a man in a suit. Men should stay clothed, even if they have nice bodies.
  • I love men who know when to put their foot down and when not to.
  • I try to be a good person. I know what my downfalls are, so that’s a good thing.
  • I applaud my mother now for getting me through that time and making me believe in myself.
  • But inside, I’m going, ‘Oh my God, is my zipper up? Do I have a booger in my nose?’ That’s my inner monologue.
