Lawrence Gene David was born on 2nd July 1947, in Brooklyn, New York USA of Jewish descent. He is a famous comedian who has won two Emmy Awards for his comic roles. What is more, Larry David is a famous actor, screenwriter and producer notable for his involvement in the television series “Fridays” (1980–82), the sitcom “Seinfeld” (1990–98) and comedy improvisation series “Curb Your Enthusiasm” (2000–2011). Larry David has been active in the entertainment industry for more than three decades, since 1980.
So just how rich is Larry David? $800 million makes-up Larry’s current estimated net worth. No wonder that he is so wealthy, as from the series “Seinfeld” he earned $250 million in 1998 alone, and he received $55 million from Seinfeld syndication DVD sales in 2008.
Larry David was raised in Sheepshead Bay, in Brooklyn, and was educated at Sheepshead Bay High School. Later, he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Maryland and another degree in Business Administration from the Robert H. Smith School of Business.
At the beginning of his career Larry David worked as a stand up comedian, and at the same time did other jobs as a limousine driver, store clerk and others to support himself financially. In 1980, he debuted on television as a cast member and writer of the series “Fridays” (1980–82). Later, he appeared on “Saturday Night Live” (1984–85), and meanwhile appeared on the big screen in the main cast of the comedy film “Can She Bake a Cherry Pie?” (1983), and drama film “Second Thoughts” (1983). From 1989 until 1998, Larry worked on the sitcom “Seinfeld” as a writer, co-creator and actor. Due to the great success of the sitcom, and great evaluations of critics, Larry David won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series in 1993. Another Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series was shared with the other co-creator Jerry Seinfeld.
Moreover, Larry worked as an actor, creator and writer on the series “Curb Your Enthusiasm” (2000–11). Larry David was nominated for Golden Globe Awards three times, in 2002, 2004 and 2005 as well as for Emmy Awards five times, in 2003, 2004, 2006, 2010 and 2012. Furthermore, he has appeared in episodes of various series including “Real Time with Bill Maher” (2003), “Late Show with David Letterman” (2006), “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson” (2009), “Totally Tracked Down” (2010), “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” (2011), “Inside Comedy” (2012), “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” (2014) and others.
It is important to mention the fact that Larry David worked as a writer, producer and director of feature films, too. In 1998, he starred, wrote and directed the comedy film “Sour Grapes” (1998). In 2013, he produced and starred in “Clear History” directed by Greg Mottola. The latter received mixed reviews from critics, though. In his personal life, in 1993 Larry married environmental activist Laurie Lennard, and they have two daughters together. However, they divorced in 2007.
