Kim Tae-yeon Wiki Biography
Kim Tae-yeon was born on 9 March 1989, in Jeonju, North Jeolla, South Korea, and is a singer, best known as a former member of the girl group “Girls’ Generation”. She has since gone on to a solo career, releasing various extended plays and albums. All of her efforts have helped put her net worth to where it is today.
How rich is Taeyeon? As of early-2018, sources estimate a net worth that is at $8 million, mostly earned through a successful career in the music industry. She’s won numerous awards throughout her career which now spans more than a decade, including Golden Disc Awards, Mnet Asian Music Awards, and Seoul Music Awards. As she continues her career, it is expected that her wealth will also continue to increase.
At a young age, Taeyeon dreamed of becoming a singer. While at middle school, she went to SM Academy and was convinced by the school president to try her hand at pursuing her chosen career.
She then took vocal lessons from The One, and would eventually win the top prize – the SM Youth Best Competition – and received a contract from SM Entertainment. After training with SM, she made her debut as a part of the girl group Girls’ Generation in 2007. She matriculated from Jeonju Art High School, and soon found popularity after the group released the hit single “Gee”. Her net worth was also now established, and increasing.
While a part of Girls Generation, Taeyeon also started to make solo efforts, including contributing her vocals to a track of Kangta. She then began making songs for various television series soundtracks, which proved to be very popular. After trying her hand at acting, she then worked with composer Ahn Young-min for several musical projects, plus collaborative projects with Lee Pil-ho for the soundtracks of “Beethoven Virus” and “The King 2 Hearts”. Her songs would win awards, and she would then form a sub-group called TTS, which released several EPs. In 2014, Taeyeon joined the ballad group “SM the Ballad”, and contributed to their second album. Eventually, she would start working on a solo album which she had previously delayed due to her lack of experience, but the final product would become an extended play entitled “I”, which proved highly popular in South Korea, plus a series of concerts to promote her album.
She then continued with several collaborations before releasing the single “Rain”, which would become SM Station’s most commercially successful song. In 2016, she worked on the EP entitled “Why”, which started steering her towards electronic dance music (EDM). Her next single would be “11:11”, before she would win several awards, including Best Female Artist, Singer of the Year, Voice of the Year and Most Hardworking. Her next project was a studio album entitled “My Voice”, released in 2017, which led her to embark on her first Asian tour, entitled “Persona”.
For her personal life, it is known that Taeyon dated EXO member Byun Baekhyun but their relationship ended in 2015 due to the lack of time they could spend together. Taeyeon continues as the only successful solo artist in South Korea, who also remains as a member of a popular girl group.
