Kevin Corrigan Wiki Biography
Kevin Corrigan was born on the 27th March 1969 in The Bronx, New York City USA, and is a film and television actor, with over hundred roles to his name, most of them in independent films. He is probably best known for playing Uncle Eddie in the sitcom “Grounded for Life” (2001-2005). His career started in 1989, with the film “Lost Angels”.
Have you ever wondered how rich Kevin Corrigan is, as of early 2017? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that Corrigan’s net worth is as high as $500,000, an amount earned through his successful career in acting.
Kevin Corrigan has mixed heritage, with an Irish father and Puerto Rican mother. He expressed interest in the film industry from an early age, having written his first play when he was only fifteen. Consequently, he enrolled at Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute to study acting. When he was seventeen, the Young Playwrights Festival of New York decided to produce his original play “The Boiler Room” (1986).
He got his start in an independent film when he was cast in “Lost Angles” (1989), starring Donald Sutherland and Adam Horovitz. Since then, Corrigan has built a name for himself with the wide variety of roles he has portrayed in independent films. He is particularly known for playing dark, villainous characters, such as drug dealers, gang members, and murderers. At the same time, he has also participated in more mainstream projects, such as Martin Scorcese’s biographical crime film “Goodfellas” (1990), starring Ray Liotta, Joe Pesci and Robert De Niro. Another notable entry in his filmography is the 1993 coming-of-age film “Dazed and Confused”, which is considered a classic of its genre; the movie had an ensemble cast of future Hollywood stars, such as Matthew McConaughey, Jason London, Ben Affleck, Milla Jovovich, Parker Posey, Adam Goldberg, and Rory Cochrane. Corrigan also had a small part in the hit buddy cop comedy “Bad Boys” (1995), featuring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence.
During the 1990s he worked tirelessly, averaging five roles per year. He appeared in the independent film “Walking and Talking” (1997), for which he received a nomination for Independent Spirit Award. He co-wrote and starred in 1997 comedy film “Kicked in the Head”, which also featured Linda Fiorentino, Lili Taylor, and James Woods. He appeared in another coming-of-age film, this time the comedy “Detroit Rock City” (1999), revolving around four teenagers who started a Kiss cover band.
After the turn of the century, Corrigan continued to act regularly, though at somewhat slower pace. He joined the cast of comedy heist film “Chain of Fools” in 2000, which starred Salma Hayek, Steve Zahn, and Jeff Goldblum. He also appeared in independent films “Chelsea Walls” (2001), which was directed by Ethan Hawke, and “Sexual Life” (2005), as well as in comedy drama “Lonesome Jim” (2005), directed by fellow actor Steve Buscemi. He also had notable roles in Hollywood blockbusters, such as Martin Scorcese’s “The Departed” (2006) with Leonardo DiCaprio and Matt Damon, and teen comedy “Superbad” (2007) with Jonah Hill and Michael Cera. Besides Ethan Hawke, Corrigan has also worked multiple times with Colin Farell, appearing with him in 2012 black comedy “Seven Psychopaths”, and then in fantasy romance “Winter’s Tale” (2014). He remains very active in the film industry, with as many as five releases scheduled for 2017, including a drama biopic dedicated to Jim Morrison’s last days, called “The Last Beat”.
Regarding his personal life, Kevin has been married to Elizabeth Berridge since 2001, and together they have one daughter.
