Ken Levine Wiki Biography

Born Kennet Marc Levine on the 1st September 1966 in Flushing, New York City USA, Ken is a video game developer, screenwriter and author, best known to the world for creating the “BioShock” video game series. He is the co-founder of Irrational Games, which is now known as Ghost Story Games.

Have you ever wondered how rich Ken Levine is, as of mid- 2017? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that Levine’s net worth is as high as $15 million, an amount earned through his successful career, which has been active since the late ‘80s.

Ken was born into a Jewish family and grew up in Flushing. After finishing high school, he enrolled at Vassar College, located in Poughkeepsie, New York, where he studied drama. He then moved to Los Angeles, California in order to pursue a career in film, primarily as a screenwriter.

Unfortunately, Ken didn’t have much success, though he did write two screenplays. So in 1995 he became a game designer at Looking Glass Studios. His first creation was the successful first-person stealth video game “Thief: The Dark Project”, on which he worked with Doug Church. After this success, Ken left the Looking Glass Studios, joining Jonathan Chey and Robert Fermier to start their own studio, first called Irrational Games.

Their first video game was the “System Shock 2”, which is a sequel of “System Schock”, released in 1994 by the Looking Glass Studios. The video game came out in 1999, released by Electronic Arts and became one of the most successful games at that point in time. Inspired by their success, the trio continued their collaboration and three years later issued their second game “Freedom Force”, also through the Electronic Arts. However, their most successful game became “BioShock”, a first-person shooter, on which Ken worked as a story writer and creative director. The game became an immense hit, increasing Ken’s net worth to a large degree. In 2013 they released “BioShock Infinite”, which is a third part of the franchise, however, Ken and his Irrational Games didn’t work on the second part of the game, as they let it be done by 2K Marin. The sequel became even more popular, though it didn’t have any relationship with the previous two installments of the game; Ken was credited as lead story writer and creative director. Since then, he rebranded the Irrational Games to the Ghost Story Games, and is working on a new video game, which is yet to be released.

Having acquired popularity as a video game story writer, he again tried to come through as a film and television scriptwriter; he has successfully worked on a script based on the novel “Logan’s Run” in 2013, and is working with Interlude on writing a pilot episode for the TV series based on “The Twilight Zone”

Regarding his personal life, Ken has kept his most intimate details as secretive as he could; hence, there is no information about his life in the media.
