Katrina Laverne Taylor Wiki Biography
American rap artist, songwriter, record producer as well as a model Katrina Laverne Taylor, commonly known by her stage name of Trina, was born on 3 December 1978, in Miami, Florida, and her first major public exposure came in 1998, when she was featured on a song called “Nann Nigga” in sexual innuendo terms, which was included on the second studio album released by fellow rapper Trick Daddy.
So just how rich is Trina? Authoritative sources estimate that Trina’s net worth is over $8 million as of mid-2017, accumulated mostly from her rapping career now spanning 20 years.
Trina studied at the Miami Northwestern Senior High School, then when she decided to pursue a career in rapping, she was soon discovered by Trick Daddy, who featured her on one of his songs, and in turn helped her make a successful debut. The popularity of Trina’s first collaboration song inspired the release of her debut album shortly after, released under the name of “Da Baddest Bitch” in 2000. The album placed at #33 on the Billboard 200 music chart, and sold more than 700,000 copies worldwide, which guaranteed it a gold certification by the RIAA. The album also spawned two singles, namely “Da Baddest Bitch” and “Pull Over”, with the latter reaching #27 on the list of “Top 50 Best Rap Songs by Women”, compiled by “Complex Magazine”.
Following the success of “Da Baddest Bitch”, Trina came out with her second studio work entitled “Diamond Princess”. The album did fairly well on the market, as it peaked at #14 on the Billboard 200 chart, and sold more than 67,000 copies during its debut week eventually selling over 500,000 copies, earning another gold certificate. In 2005, Trina came out with her “Glamorous Life” album, which featured guest appearances from Lil Wayne, Rick Ross and Mannie Fresh, and spawned two singles, namely “Don’t Trip” and “Here We Go”. In 2008, Trina released a critical and commercial success album called “Still da Baddest”, her fourth studio work; not only did the album top the music charts, but it also sold more than 400,000 copies in the US that year.
Considered to be among the most influential female hip hop artists, Trina up to date has released six studio albums, the most recent being “6’”, which was released in 2016, in collaboration with various artists, such as Rick Ross, Missy Elliott, Ludacris, Eve, Snoop Dogg and Trey Songz to name a few.
In her personal life, Trina dated Lil Wayne for several years, and then basketballer Kenyon Martin, and rapper French Montana, but is still believed to be single, and living in Florida.
