Kathy Baker Wiki Biography
Katherine Whitton Baker was born on 8 June 1950, in Midland, Texas USA, of part-French descent through her mother, and is an actress, perhaps best known for her award-winning performance in the 1987 film “Street Smart”. She also played Dr. Jill Brock in the series “Picket Fences” for which she won three Primetime Emmy Awards. All of her efforts have helped put her net worth to where it is today.
How rich is Kathy Baker? As of mid-2017, sources inform us of a net worth that is at $2 million, mostly earned through a successful career in acting which began in the early ‘80s. She’s appeared in numerous films and television series, including “Touched by an Angel”, “Saving Mr. Banks” and “The Age of Adaline”. As she continues her career, it is expected that her wealth will also continue to increase.
Kathy attended Mills High School where she gained an interest in acting thanks to her drama class. After matriculating, she attended the California Institute of Arts where she studied acting, and later UC Berkeley to gain a degree in French. Kathy started her acting career on stage, and would get her break in an off-Broadway production entitled “Fool for Love”, starring opposite Ed Harris, and winning an Oble Award for the role. She was then cast in her film debut “The Right Stuff”, followed in 1987 by one of her most notable performances in “Street Smart”, which won her multiple awards. She was then cast in other films such as “Edward Scissorhands” and “Jacknife”, and her net worth started to increase significantly.
In 1992, Baker was cast in the drama series “Picket Fences” as Jill Brock, a performance which would lead to three Primetime Emmy Award wins, as well as two Golden Globe Awards. She would later appear in other television shows such as “The Practice” and “Ally McBeal”, and also in a recurring role in “Boston Public”, which got her another Primetime Emmy Award nomination. She received more nominations after performing in “Touched by an Angel” and the television movie “Door to Door”, so her net worth continued to build thanks to these numerous opportunities.
She continued in films as well, and was cast in various leading as well as supporting roles, including in films such as “Nine Lives”, “13 Going on 30”, and “Saving Mr. Banks”, meantime starring in the television series “Jesse Stone” alongside Tom Selleck, and with frequent appearances in hit television shows such as “Grey’s Anatomy”, “Nip/Tuck”, and “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit”.
Kathy also starred in the short-lived series “Against the Wall” produced by Lifetime. One of her latest projects is the series “The Ranch” produced by Netflix, appearing alongside Ashton Kutcher. Her net worth is certainly still growing!
For her personal life, it is known that Baker married Donald Cammillieri in 1985 but they divorced in 1999 after having two children. In 2003, she married producer and director Steven Robman – they reside in southern California.
