Kathleen Madigan, born on the 30th September 1965, is an American comedian and television personality who became famous in the ‘80s for her stand up performances.

So how much is Madigan’s net worth? As of late 2016, it is reported by authoritative sources to be $500,000 acquired from her years performing to live audiences as a stand-up comedian, and her various television shows and appearances throughout the years.

Born in Florissant, Missouri, Madigan is a product of a large family with six other siblings. She is the daughter of lawyer and later on judge, Jack Madigan and nurse, Vicki. Growing up, she spent most of her times studying in private Catholic schools as she was raised in an Irish Catholic home. During her younger years, she excelled in many sports including volleyball, basketball and track. She even made history in her hometown when she won the 1978 Mid-Missouri Hoop Shoot Championship with the height of just four feet and five inches, the smallest person to ever win the award.

Madigan later attended McCluer North High School matriculating in 1983 and later on attending the University of Missouri-St. Louis for two years. After leaving her first university, she later transferred to Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and graduated with a degree in journalism. She wrote for her college paper at SIUE and also interned for the schools’ ice hockey team.

After college, Madigan worked in print journalism in various papers in town and also waited tables. From time to time she would perform at open mic nights at the bars in her hometown and soon she was drawing a crowd. Later, she saw herself in a new career while also increasing her net worth.

From freelancing and performing at various bars, one comedy club offered Madigan a stable job as a comedian. The Funny Bone became her kick-off point as a performer and she slowly gained popularity with her unique style of incorporating everyday news and life and ending it with punches of jokes. She quit her other jobs and comedy became her life. The start with The Funny Bone not only began her new career but also boosted her net worth.

With her growing popularity in the comedy club scene, Madigan soon infiltrated television. Some of the shows she appeared in included “I Love the 90s: Part Deux”, “Last Comic Standing”, and “Celebrity Poker Showdown”. She has also been a frequent face in late night shows, including “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno”, “Late Show with David Letterman”, “Late Night with Conan O’Brien” and “The Bob Tom Show”. In 1996 she was also recognized as the Funniest Female Stand-Up Comic at the American Comedy Awards. Her various television appearances catapulted her to fame, and have also helped increase her wealth through the years.

In terms of her personal life, Madigan is single and lives in Los Angeles. She is still active in performing both on stage and on television.
