Kathie Lee Gifford Wiki Biography
Kathryn Lee Epstein was born on the 16th August 1953 in Paris, France of Russian Jewish and Native American ancestry. She is a television host, singer / songwriter and actress known under the name of Kathie Lee Gifford. She rose to fame through co-hosting the talk show “Live! with Regis and Kathie Lee” (1985–2000). Kathie Lee Gifford has been accumulating her net worth being active in the entertainment industry since 1970.
How much is Kathie Lee Gifford’s net worth? Reportedly, during her long- spanned career in the entertainment industry, Gifford has accumulated wealth which is now as much as $35 million.
To begin with, Kathryn was raised in Bowie, Maryland by her parents: Aaron Epstein was a musician, and Joan Epstein a singer, so she had a good grounding in music. The girl was educated at Bowie High School, and then she majored in drama and music at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Kathie Lee Gifford presented herself as a singer in the television game show “Name That Tune” (1977–1978) in which she served as the vocalist alongside with Tom Kennedy. Afterwards, she was in the main cast of the television series “Hee Haw Honeys” (1978), however, she didn’t really gain popularity until several years later, while working with Regis Philbin in the syndicated morning talk show “Live! with Regis and Kathie Lee” (1985–2000) created by WABC-TV. In fact, this show increased the net worth of Kathie Lee Gifford considerably.
Following her departure from the show, Kathie released the studio album “The Heart of a Woman” (2000) which contains the single “Love Never Fails” (2000). In 2005, she was working as a correspondent of the show covering events and celebrities, “The Insider” (2005). Since 2008, she has been co-hosting the morning show “Today” (2008–present) with Hoda Kotb, which is known for high ratings that have a positive impact on the wealth of Kathie Lee Gifford, too.
Recently, and almost as an aside, the actress appeared as herself in the disaster horror sci-fi television film “Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No” (2015) directed by Anthony C. Ferrante.
Another important source of Kathie Lee Gifford’s net worth and popularity is musical theatre. She is known as the producer and writer of the play “Under the Bridge” (1998). Gilfford co-wrote “Key Pin It Real” (2008) with David Friedman, the play being for high school. Kathie starred in the plays “Saving Aimee” (2007) and “Scandalous: The Life and Trials of Aimee Semple McPherson” (2012). Currently, she is working on the new play “It’s a Wonderful Life”.
Kathie is known for her philanthropic activities, as she is an active supporter of various charity funds. She is also the ambassador of the organization Childhelp, and contributes to the shelters based in New York City.
Finally, in the personal life of Kathie Lee Gifford, she has been married twice. Her first marriage was with Paul Johnson, which lasted for seven years (1976–1983). In 1986, Gifford was married her second husband, the retired football player and sports-caster Frank Gifford. The two has two children: Cody Newton who was born in 1990 and Cassidy Erin born in 1993.
