She is also known as the Executive Vice-President of Warner Bros Records’ Talent Development program.
Have you ever wondered how much wealth this multi-talented woman has accumulated so far? How rich Kara DioGuardi is? According to sources, it is estimated that the total amount of Kara’s net worth, as of early 2017, exceeds $25 million, including assets such as a residence in New York City valued at $3 million. It has been acquired through her career in the music industry which has been active since 1998.
Kara was born to Carol and Joseph J. DioGuardi, a former Republican Congressman, and is of American as well as Italian and Albanian ancestry. She attended Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic School and later The Masters School in Dobbs Ferry, New York after which she enrolled at Duke University from which she graduated in 1993 with a bachelor’s degree majoring in political science. After graduation she landed her first job at Billboard magazine as an editor-in-chief’s assistant. She later got an on-camera job, as a sales representative and advertiser. These engagements provided the basis for Kara DioGuardi’s quite respectable net worth.
Kara’s career in the music industry began in 1998, when she approached Paula Abdul on the streets of New York City and gave her a demo CD, and the rest is history. However, her real breakthrough came in 2000 when Kara wrote the song “Spinning Around” for Kylie Minogue, since when she has written several hundreds songs, including over 250 songs which were released on studio albums of which 150 were featured on platinum rated albums, selling over 160 million copies. So far, Kara DioGuardi has collaborated with numerous big names from the music industry, apart from those already mentioned including Britney Spears, Celine Dion, the Jonas Brothers, Christina Aguilera, Katy Perry, Santana as well as Enrique Iglesias, Backstreet Boys and Pink. All these ventures have helped Kara DioGuardi to dramatically increase her wealth.
International glory came in 2009, when she appeared as a judge in the eighth season of FOX’s “American Idol” alongside Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson. She continued with this role in the show’s ninth season, and in 2011 she appeared, this time as the head judge, in Bravo’s talent show named “Platinum Hits”. Later that year Kara debuted as an actress in the Broadway musical production of “Chicago”, in which she portrayed Roxie Hart. Soon after, her first, autobiographical book was released – “A Helluva High Note: Surviving Life, Love & American Idol”. It is certain that all these achievements have significantly increased the popularity of Kara DioGuardi as well as her worth.
Kara DioGuardi is also a co-founder of the music production and publishing company Arthouse Entertainment, which has released several hit albums from artists such as Gwen Stefani, Hilary Duff’, Nick Lachey, Eminem, Demi Lovato, Rihanna, Jason Derulo and Bruno Mars to name a few. To the present day, Kara has won eleven BMI Music Awards in several genres, including country, pop and Latin, and has also been nominated for prestigious Grammy and Emmy awards. Doubtlessly, all these accomplishments have made a huge, positive impact on Kara DioGuardi’s net worth.
When it comes to her personal life, Kara has been married since 2009 to Mike McCuddy, with whom she has a son who was born thanks to a surrogate mother; allegedly, Kara and Mike paid $100,000 to the woman who carried their child. However, this is not Kara’s first child, as from her previous relationships she has a daughter.
