Joseph James Rogan Wiki Biography

Joseph James Rogan, commonly known as Joe Rogan, is a famous American actor, commentator, television presenter, film producer, as well as a stand-up comedian. To the public, Joe Rogan is best known for portraying the character of Joe Garrelli in a popular situation comedy called “NewsRadio”. With a focus on a fictional news radio station and the lives of its owners and staff, “NewsRadio” debuted on television screens in 1995, and finished its five-season run in 1999. Apart from Rogan, the main cast included Dave Foley, Stephen Root, Andy Dick, Vicki Lewis and Maura Tierney.

Over the years, the show had enjoyed an average of 11.4 million viewers during its first season, and an audience of approximately 9.6 million viewers during the last season.

After “NewsRadio”, Joe Rogan went on to host a reality series entitled “Fear Factor” and was a host of a philosophy and comedy podcast known as “The Joe Rogan Experience”. The latter show has aired 551 episodes up to date and usually features a range of celebrity guests, including Steve Maxwell, Alex Grey, Andrew Dice Clay, Christopher Ryan and Shane Smith among many others.

In addition to hosting his own television shows, Joe Rogan has made several movie appearances, the first major one being in a romantic comedy film, produced by Kevin James and Adam Sandler entitled “Zookeeper”, as well as a sports comedy film called “Here Comes the Boom”, where the main roles are played by Kevin James, Henry Winkler and Salma Hayek.

A well-known actor and a stand-up comedian, how rich is Joe Rogan? The sources state that Joe Rogan’s net worth is estimated to be $22 million. Most of Joe Rogan’s income and net worth comes from his acting career.

Joe Rogan was born in 1967, in New Jersey, US, but he moved a lot during his childhood and lived in Massachusetts and California before his family settled down in Florida. Rogan’s career began in 1994, when he starred as Frank Valente in a baseball sitcom called “Hardball”. Rogan’s debut landed him an opportunity to appear alongside Dave Foley and Andy Dick in “NewsRadio”, a sitcom he is now most notable for. However, Rogan did not dwell on acting too much, as he chose to provide commentary for the Ultimate Fighting Championship and even won several awards for Best Television Announcer. Rogan’s insightful comments earned him a position of a live color commentator, which granted him an opportunity to shoutcast many live matches.

In addition to providing commentary and appearing on television screens, Joe Rogan went into stand-up comedy. As a comedian, Joe Rogan performed various live shows and released several comedy albums, such as “Shiny Happy Jihad”, “Joe Rogan Live from Tabernacle”, “I’m Gonna Be Dead Someday” and “Joe Rogan: Talking Monkey in Space”.

Joseph James Rogan Quotes

  • Mixed martial arts is sort of a testing ground. There was a lot of fuckery before – a lot of shit that people thought was good but was useless. And there were a lot of people that were pretending they were doing some high-level ancient martial arts that were deadly and super-effective. But really, they were just like cult leaders and charlatans. Crazy people.
  • The comics I hate are thieves. Nothing’s more disgusting than a guy who steals another person’s ideas and tries to claim them as his own. Stand-up comedy is supposed to be “Here’s the world through my eyes.” It’s supposed to be your observations, your thoughts and views on life. When you snatch little pieces of other people’s lives and try to palm them off as your own, that’s more disgusting than anything. Robin Williams is a huge thief. Denis Leary is a huge thief. His whole stand-up career is based on Bill Hicks, a brilliant guy who died years ago.
  • Pryor was the first really honest comedian. My act could be classified as ‘unedited,’ but I try to keep my audience in mind while focusing on the truth. I never want to compromise my act just to get a laugh.

Joseph James Rogan Important Facts

  • Has a daughter who was born in May 2008.
  • Has a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Jean Jacques Machado and a black rash guard in 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu under Eddie Bravo.

  • At the age of 19, he won the US Open Tae Kwon Do Championship and, as the lightweight champ, went on beat both the middle and heavy weight title holders to take home the Grand Championship.
  • Was the Massachusetts Full Contact Tae Kwon Do champion four consecutive times.
  • Was a popular stand-up comedian before he got into acting and television.
  • Has a black belt in Tae Kwon Do.
  • Commentator for Ultimate Fighting Championship.
  • Although widely reported to be true, Bryan Callen is not his half brother. Rogan explained in a radio interview that he refers to Callen as his “brother from another mother” to explain the close friendship they have.
  • His character on “NewsRadio” was originally named Ted Garelli, but Rogan said there was no way he was a “Ted” and asked to be “Joe” instead.
