Jose Sacristan Wiki Biography
Jose Maria Sacristan Turiegano was born on 27 September 1937, in Chinchon, Madrid, Spain, and is an actor and director, best known for his appearances in various Spanish television, film and theatre productions. He’s been active in the industry since 1965, and all of his efforts have helped put his net worth to where it is today.
How rich is Jose Sacristan? As of early-2018, sources estimate a net worth that is at $10 million, mostly earned through a successful career as an actor. He is one of the founders of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences of Spain. As he continues his career, it is expected that his wealth will also continue to increase.
Jose started his career in 1965 by appearing in the comedy film “La Ciudad no es Para mi” in which he played the role of Venancio, with Francisco Martinez Soria and Eduard Fajardo. Jose’s next notable film would be “Operation Mata Hari” in 1968, a comedy film based on the story of German spy Mata Hari’s activities during World War I. More opportunities started opening for Jose, and soon his net worth would start to increase with a string of film appearances. Some of his projects during this time included “The Troublemaker”, “Sangre en el ruedo” and “The Complete Idiot”, before in 1970 appearing in “The Man Who Wanted to Kill Himself”, a remake of the 1942 film of the same name, which continued his streak of comedy films.
Sacristan’s next notable project would come the following year, entitled “Espanolas en Paris”, released at the “7th Moscow International Film Festival”. He was also a part of “Vente a Alemania, Pepe” in which he played the role of Angelino, directed by Pedro Lazaga. In 1976, Sacristan became a part of “Las Largas Vacaciones del 36”, and would follow it up with more projects including “Asignatura Pendiente” as well as “Oro Rojo”. In 1980, he was cast in the film “Navajeros”, an action drama film and a co-production between Spain and Mexico. He reduced the number of his film roles in the 1980s, but his net worth steadily increased. Over the next decade, some of his more popular films included “Todos a la Carcel”, and “Convivencia”, and in 2004 he appeared in the film “Roma”, which would win a Silver Condor award for Best Film.
After taking a few years off from acting, Jose then appeared in the film “Madrid, 1987” in which he played the role of a bitter old journalist, and then had a part in the film “Magical Girl”, before joining the cast of series “Velvet” which aired from 2014 to 2016. After the end of the series, he went on to appear in the film “The Bar” which was released in 2017; the thriller was directed by Alex de la Iglesia and is about a group of people being held hostage inside a café by an unknown sniper. His net worth continues to rise steadily.
For his personal life, it is known that Sacristan married Lillane Meric in 1979 but the marriage eventually ended. He is now married to Leonor Benedetto, and they have three children together.
