Jim O’Heir Wiki Biography
Born James O’Heir on the 4th February 1962 in Chicago, Illinois USA, Jim is a stage, television and film actor perhaps best known to the world as Jerry Gergich in the sitcom “Parks and Recreation” (2009-2015), and as Harvey Krudup in the sitcom “Strip Mall” (2000-2001), among many other differing appearances, Jim’s career started in the late 1980s.
Have you ever wondered how rich Jim O’Heir is, as of early 2017? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that O’Heir’s net worth is as high as $4 million, an amount earned through his successful career in the entertainment industry, during which he has made more than 140 film and TV appearances.
Jim went to Thornton Fractional South High School in Lansing, Illinois, after which he enrolled at Loyola University from where he graduated with a degree in theatre.
Starting in the late ‘80s, Jim became a part of the comedy sketch group White Noise, which focused on black comedy and bizarre humor. With them he appeared in several plays, including “The Book of Blanche”, which revolved around the woman who fell through a television screen, and finds herself in a made-up world which is greatly influenced by various genres. He then worked with Tom Griffin in the play “The Boys Next Door”, which premiered at the Edgewater Theatre Center. Continuing with White Noise, Jim appeared in “Stumpy’s Gang”, and “Ad-Nauseam”, receiving rather positive critiques for both performances, and so slowly building his net worth.
Starting in the mid- ‘90s, Jim brought his acting talents to the screen, firstly in the film “Harvey” (1996), and then continued with minor roles in such TV series as “ER” (1996), “3rd Rock from the Sun” (1996), and “Ally McBeal” (1999), among many others, which helped him gain popularity, while also increasing his net worth. Then in 2000 he got his first big break, as Harv Krudup in the sitcom “Strip Mall” (2000-2001), next to Julie Brown, who was his wife in the show. He was then cast in several minor roles, and has credits in such shows as “Friends” (2004), “Boston Legal” (2004), and “Desperate Housewives” (2006), which also added to his net worth. In 2009 he was selected for the role of Jerry Gergich in the sitcom “Parks and Recreation” (2009-2015), next to Amy Poehler and Nick Offerman. The particular role significantly increased his wealth, and enabled him new starring roles even during his continued participation in the series. Unfortunately, Jim just couldn’t profit from the role, and continued with mediocre performances into the new decade, with only few a appearances worth mentioning. Some of them include the role of Bill Winters in the romantic comedy “Life in Color” (2015), and as Huck Huckerson in the comedy “Sleep Away” (2017).
Regarding his personal life, Jim tends to keep his private life hidden from the public eyes, therefore, there is no available info about Jim’s private life, although rumours abound of possible relationships.

Jim O’Heir Quotes
- Community’ is a great show. I love ‘Raising Hope’ with Martha Plimpton. And I love ‘The Middle’ – another Chicagoan in there is Neil Flynn, who used to play the janitor in ‘Scrubs.
- I would love to do a podcast because I’ve done so many of them, guesting on them. Plus, anything goes, which I love.
- I’ve always been a big guy, whether it’s been a fat kid, a fat young adult, or a fat adult. I was always sort of… I guess the term would be ‘popular.’ I never dealt with a lot of name-calling or any of the bullying you’d think a fat kid might have to deal with.
- Christie Brinkley, that’s my age range of supermodels. That’s on my radar. This isn’t someone where I don’t know who she is. She turned out to be such a bright light. She walks into a room and just lights it up. She’s just that person.
- One of my obsession is animals. I’m into dog rescues. It drives me crazy when people go to pet stores and buy dogs. There are so many dogs that need a good home. And this sounds crazy, but I really believe they know what is happening and are appreciative, and I just think they make for the best pets.
- I’ve always liked the downtrodden character on different shows. Before ‘Parks,’ I loved the Toby character on ‘The Office.’ I do like playing that type of thing.
- As a radio DJ, I was on WRIN-WLQI. And even when I repeat it, it’s horrifying. My morning sign-on, because it was in Rensselaer, Indiana, it’d be, ‘You’re on the air with Jim O’Heir in Rensselaer.’ Ugh, oh my God, pathetic.
- I’ve mostly been a happy-go-lucky kind of guy.
- I’m labeled a comedic actor, which is awesome. But I love getting the occasional dramatic role, too. Some of your best dramatic actors are ultimately comedians.
- I’ve always loved the underdog characters.
- I’ve been an ‘Office’ fan from day one. I knew Steve Carell in Chicago back in the day, so I started watching to support a Chicago guy and immediately got hooked on that show.
