Jesse Eden Metcalfe Wiki Biography
Jesse Eden Metcalfe, born on the 9th December 1978 of Portuguese and Italian(mother) and French, English and Irish(father) ancestry, is an American actor who became famous for his roles in the television series “Passion” and “Desperate Housewives”.
So how much is Metcalfe’s net worth? As of mid 2016, it is estimated by authoritative sources to be $12 million, acquired from his years acting in movies and on television since 1999.
Born in Carmel Valley Village, California, Metcalfe is the son of Nancy and Jeff. The young heartthrob started playing basketball in his teen years while attending The Williams School in New London, Connecticut. Although he had a love for sports and music, he decided to study acting in the Tisch School of the Arts of New York University. In 1999, after being accepted after an audition for an upcoming television series, Metcalfe decided to drop out of school and focus on his career. The new series was “Passion”, in which he played the character of Miguel Lopez-Fitzgerald. It debuted in 2004 and became a hit with audience, and although the series catapulted Metcalfe to stardom and tremendously helped his net worth, in 2004 he decided to leave the show to widen his horizons and pursue other options.
That same year, Metcalfe made a guest appearance in the popular series “Desperate Housewives”; his performance as John Rowland, the gardener and secret lover of Gabrielle Solis played by Eva Longoria, was well-received by fans. Because of the reception of the audience, the people behind the show decided to make him a series regular, and subsequently the show made him a household name and increased his wealth greatly. In 2009, he made his last appearance in the show after five years.
In 2006, Metcalfe ventured into movies, playing the title character of the film “John Tucker Must Die”. The teen romantic comedy revolved around his character who is a womanizer, and how his three girlfriends planned to throw him down. The feel good movie became a runaway hit worldwide, and performed very well in the box office. The movie only furthered his career and tremendously increased his net worth.
Following this success, Metcalfe also starred in other films like “Insanitarium”, “The Other End of the Line”, and “Beyond a Reasonable Doubt” along with premier actor Michael Douglas.
In 2011, Metcalfe went back to television and became part of the series remake of “Dallas”; he played the role of Christopher Ewing for three years until the show was cancelled in 2014. Although it ended quickly, Metcalfe’s performance was well remembered, and it also helped maintain his income.
Today, Metcalfe is still active in acting with some of his recent projects including “Dead Rising: Watchtower”, “A Country Wedding” and “God’s Not Dead 2”. In 2016, his movie “Dead Rising: Endgame” was released, reprising his role as Chase Charter.
In terms of Metcalfe’s personal life, he dated Nadine Coyle in 2005, a member of the singing girl group Girls Aloud, but the relationship ended in 2008. Today, he is reportedly dating actress Cara Santana, who he has been seeing since 2009. Periods in rehabilitation for alcoholism have not always helped his career or relationships.
