Jennifer Maria Capriati was born on the 29th March 1976, in New York City, USA, and is a former professional tennis player best known to the world for winning three Grand Slam titles, two Australian Opens and one French Open finals. She was also the No. 1 tennis player on the WTA list in October 2001. Her career started in 1990 and ended in 2004.

These wins included the Australian Open titles in 2001 and 2002 and the French Open in 2001; in Australia she beat Martina Hingis on both occasions, and in France, her opponent was Kim Clijsters.In addition to the above, Jennifer won the singles gold medal in the Barcelona Summer Olympic Games in 1992.
However, her career came to an end in 2004; after battling several injuries, she eventually decided to retire at the season`s end, although still finishing as a top 10 player.
