Jeff Saturday grew up in Georgia, and went to the Shamrock High School in Decatur, where he played football before enrolling at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, which offered him an athletic scholarship toenrol. He had a solid career at college but was undrafted in the 1998 NFL Draft.

Saturday was picked up by the Baltimore Ravens in April 1998, but was waived in June. Jeff returned to North Carolina, and worked as a manager at an electrical supply store in Raleigh, before the Indianapolis Colts signed him as a free agent in January 1999, where he served as a backup guard to Steve McKinney. However, the following season, Saturday became the starting center in all 16 regular season games, and emerged as an integral part of the Colts’ offensive line during the 2000s.

In 2004, 2005, and 2006 seasons, Saturday played a key role in the offensive line which allowed the fewest quarterback sacks. In 2006, Jeff helped Indianapolis to reach the playoffs after a 12-4 record in the regular season, while in the AFC Championship game, a win over the New England Patriots was secured after Saturday recovered a fumble in the end zone to score a touchdown. In Super Bowl XLI, the Colts defeated the Chicago Bears 29-17, and Saturday was part of the star-studded team which included quarterback Peyton Manning, running back Joseph Addai, and wide receivers Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne.

In February 2009, Jeff signed a three-year contract extension with the Colts, worth $13.3 million including a $7.45 million signing bonus, and he stayed with them until the end of the 2011 season.

In March 2012, Jeff signed a two-year, $7.75 million deal with the Green Bay Packers, but he decided to retire in 2013 after the Pro Bowl game. However, Saturday signed a one-day deal with the Indianapolis Colts so he could retire with the team where he played in 13 out of 14 seasons in the NFL.

Following his playing career, Saturday opted to take the coaching job at the Hebron Christian Academy football team, which is located in Dacula, Georgia. He also served as a member of the Executive Committee of the National Football League Players’ Association.

Regarding his personal life, Jeff Saturday is married to Karen and has three children with her.
