Javier Colon was born on the 29th April 1977, in Stratford, Connecticut USA, of Dominican and Puerto Rican origin, and is a singer and songwriter. Colon was a member of several bands including EmcQ, of The Derek Trucks Band and collaborated with many musicians before embarking on a solo career. From 2002 to 2006, he was linked to Capitol Records, before becoming an independent artist, founding his own record label – Javier Colon Music. In 2011, he won the first edition of the talent show “The Voice”, with a $100,000 prize and a contract with Universal Republic. The same year he was nominated for Teen Choice Awards in the category the Breakout Artist. Although Javier has been active in the entertainment industry since 1999.
