Jason Bonham Wiki Biography
Jason John Bonham was born on 15 July 1966, in Dudley, England, UK, and is a drummer, probably best known for being the son of Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham. He’s played with Led Zeppelin in various events, most notably at the Ahmet Ertegun Tribute Concert. All of his endeavors have helped put his net worth to where it is today.
How rich is Jason Bonham? As of mid-2016, sources inform us of a net worth that is at $20 million, mostly earned through a successful career in the music industry, as he’s performed and recorded with a lot of popular bands. He’s also toured around the world, participating in various events, and as he continues his career it is expected that his wealth will increase.
Jason started learning to play the drums at a young age, making one of his first appearances in the film “The Song Remains the Same” playing a small drum kit. At the age of 17, he joined his first band called Airrace. In 1985, he became a part of Virginia Wolf, helping the band record two albums while touring around the US as a supporting act. Three years later, he was given the chance to join Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page for the “Outrider” album, and to tour. He also performed with Led Zeppelin at the Atlantic Records 40th Anniversary celebration.
A year later, Jason performed at the Moscow Music Peace Festival and then started the band Bonham, releasing the album “The Disregard of Timekeeping”. They had a hit single called “Wait for You”, but after the release of a second album called “Mad Hatter”, the band dissolved; one of the reasons for dissolving was because their second album wasn’t received very well. Jason then focused more on guest appearances, drumming for Paul Rodgers for “Muddy Water Blues: A Tribute to Muddy Waters”. He then performed with Slash before reforming his old band with a new name – Motherland; they released the album “Peace 4 Me” in 1994.
The following year, Jason joined Led Zeppelin’s induction into the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame, representing his father. He then put on a solo project called “In the Name of My Father – The Zepset” which was a charity effort. After touring with Debbie Bonham, he then performed for UFO and recorded with Joe Bonamassa. He appeared in the film “Rock Star” and then in the reality television program “Supergroup”. After a few more performances with other bands, Jason became part of the Led Zeppelin reunion concert in 2007 at the O2 Arena. Two years later, he formed the band called Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Experience. A few of his latest works include joining The Circle, California Breed, and touring around North America last 2015.
For his personal life, Jason has been married to Jan Chartens since 1990. It is known that Bonham endorses the DW Drums brand and Paiste cymbals. He also has his own signature line of drumsticks in collaboration with Pro-Mark. The sticks are noticeably large but short. It also has a symbol used by his father along with Jason’s signature.
