Janine Turner Wiki Biography
Janine Loraine Gauntt was born on 6 December 1962, in Lincoln, Nebraska USA, and is an actress, best known for being part of the television series “Northern Exposure” as Maggie O’Connell. She was also part of the show “Strong Medicine” as Dr. Dana Stowe, but all of her efforts have helped put her net worth to where it is today.
How rich is Janine Turner? As of 2017, sources estimate a net worth that is at $4 million, mostly earned through a successful career in acting, having been a part of numerous television shows and films. Aside from her acting work, she is also a columnist for The Washington Times. As she continues her career it is expected that her wealth will increase.
Janine started her career in 1978 when she moved away from home and signed with the Wilhelmina Modeling Agency, fully pursuing a modeling career. Two years later she would switch to acting, and made her first debut in several episodes of “Dallas”. This continued with more guest appearances in several television shows, and she would then land a role in “General Hospital” as Laura Templeton. In 1986, she mentioned in an interview that she was frustrated that she was not getting the roles that she wanted, which led her to move to New York to study at The Actors Studio. She still struggled somewhat, and turned down several offers before being cast in “Northern Exposure” in 1990, a good decision as it would earn her nominations for two Golden Globes an Emmy during the 1990s. Thanks to the role, her net worth would start steadily increasing.
Her breakthrough led to several film opportunities, including “Cliffhanger” in which she appears alongside Sylvester Stallone, and she also became part of the film adaptation of “Leave it to Beaver”. In 2004, Turner forayed into writing and directing work, making the film “Trip in a Summer Dress” which is about a strong willed mother. Two years later, she was cast in the low budget film “The Night of the White Pants”, then in the same year, she became a member of the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation.
Four years later, Turner would release her book entitled “Holding Her Head High: Inspiration from 12 Single Mothers Who Championed Their Children and Changed History”. The book as the title denotes, focused on single mothers through history, including Rachel Lavien Fawcett who is the mother of Alexander Hamilton. She would then become part of the television series “Friday Night Lights” in which she portrayed Katie McCoy. In 2011, she started a talk show on KLIF AM in Dallas; her continued endeavors should ensure that her net worth will continue to increase.
For her personal life, it is known that Turner has a daughter who has also pursued an acting career; Janine has not identified the father, although many sources believe it is Jerry Jones Jr. who had a romantic involvement with the actress. She was also previously engaged to Alec Baldwin, and has dated others including footballer Troy Aikman, actor Sylvester Stallone and ballet star. She currently lives outside of Dallas.
