James Taft Fredette was born on 25 February 1989, in Glens Falls, New York State, USA, to Al and Kay Fredette and is best known as Jimmer Fredette, a professional basketball player who currently plays for the Shanghai Sharks in Chinese Basketball Association.

In early February Fredette scored a career-high 24 points in a victory against the New York Knicks, but his contract was bought-out by the Kings, and after being signed by the Chicago Bulls, he went on to play for the New Orleans Pelicans, having his season best game in late December 2014. After that, he was traded to other teams but most importantly, in 2015 he began playing for the Westchester Knicks, making his debut in late November, and scoring 37 points with eight assists, which was a significant addition to the victory of his team, with the result of 102-90, against the Grand Rapids Drive. He went on to achieve one steal, 35 points, six rebounds and eight assists in a game against the West.

Speaking about his most recent achievements, Fredette signed a deal with the Shanghai Sharks of the CBA in 2016, and went on to score a 51-point outing against Guangdong in early November. In early 2017, he was named the CBA’s International Regular Season MVP, and went on to play in 41 games, in which he averaged 8.2 rebounds, 37.6 points and 1.6 steals per game. He has since been re-signed by the Sharks.
