James McCartney Wiki Biography
James Louis McCartney was born on 12 September 1977, in London, England, and is a musician and songwriter, but perhaps best known for being the son of the legendary Beatle Paul McCartney and his first wife, the late Linda McCartney.
So just how rich is James McCartney at present? According to sources, McCartney has earned a net worth of over $20 million, as of early 2017. His wealth has been established through his involvement in music.
Hailing from a musical family, McCarney spent his earliest years on tour with his parents’ band Wings, along with his three older sisters. In 1980 the family put down roots in Rye, East Sussex, where he attended the Thomas Peacocke Community College. However, in the late ’80s, his parents embarked on another world tour and he went along, being taught by a tutor. He later enrolled in Bexhill College to study Art and Sculpture, graduating in 1998, the same year his mother died of breast cancer.
McCartney took up guitar when he was nine years old, with his father giving him a Fender Stratocaster guitar which previously belonged to Carl Perkins. He played it on his father’s 1997 album “Flaming Pie” and the 2001 “Driving Rain”, while also co-writing a few songs. Meanwhile, he played lead guitar on his mother’s posthumously released solo album in 1998, entitled “Wide Prairie”. All contributed to his net worth. However, McCartney was going through a rough period, heavily involved in drugs, a problem he fought for several years, and which ended in rehab, and caused a rift with his father.
He moved to Brighton, East Sussex in 2004, working as a waiter and perfecting his music skills and the following year he joined his father during his USA tour. McCartney then started to make his own music, collaborating with his father and David Kahne, who produced all of his material. He made his first live public appearance in 2009, performing under the name Light at David Lynch’s Weekend for World Peace and Meditation in Iowa. The following year he released his first EP entitled “Available Light”, embarking on a tour of the UK soon after. The second EP, “Close At Hand”, came out in 2011, followed by the compilation album “The Complete EP Collection”. All material gained positive reviews, which enabled McCartney to achieve a decent following and a great level of popularity, and which brought him considerable wealth.
Embracing the fame, McCartney went on to release his first album in 2013, entitled “Me”, which was followed by a tour in the USA later that year, which reinforced his popularity status and significantly improved his fortune. A year later, he collaborated with The Cure on the cover of The Beatles’ song “Hello, Goodbye” for “The Art of McCartney”, a tribute album to his father covering both his solo work and his work with The Beatles. McCartney released his second album, “The Blackberry Train” in 2016, and as of early 2017 is scheduled for another US tour.
When it comes to his private life, McCartney tends to keep a low profile. Therefore, sources have no information about his past or current relationship status, although he’s known to be a vegetarian and to promote animal rights.
