James Henry Neidhart Wiki Biography

James Henry “Jim” Neidhart is a retired professional wrestler, born on 8th February 1955 in Tampa, Florida, USA, who is best known for his appearances as “The Anvil” in the World Wrestling Federation during the 1980s and ‘90s. During his career he was a WWF Tag Team Champion twice, and headlined for the WWF “Survivor Series 1989” and “In Your House 16: Canadian Stampede”, pay-per-view promotions.

Have you ever wondered how rich Jim Neidhart is, as of early 2017? According to sources it has been estimated that Jim Neidhart’s net worth is $500,000, accumulated during a long and rewarding wrestling career, which started in the late ‘70s. Throughout his career, Jim earned numerous awards, which significantly added to his popularity and net worth.

Neidhart attended Newport Harbor High School, where he first showed interest, and was successful in strength-oriented track and field events. From 1973 to 1985 he held the California high school record in shot put. Upon finishing high school, he played in the National Football League (NFL) for the Oakland Raiders and Dallas Cowboys in pre-season games and practices, but then decided to pursue a career in pro wrestling, and moved to Calgary, Alberta. Jim started training with legendary WWE Hall of Famer Stu Hart, and learned how to use his strength and athleticism in the ring. It was in the early ‘80s that he started competing all over North America, mostly in Stu Hart’s Calgary Stampede promotion. Due to his wild personality and tough looks, and after winning an anvil throwing contest, Neidhart earned his nickname “The Anvil”. Along with Bret “Hit Man” Hart, Davey “Boy” Smith and Dynamite Kid, Jim moved to WWE, but the team soon split into two tag teams, so Hart and Anvil became “The Hart Foundation”. During the ‘80s, the duo competed in numerous matches, capturing the World Tag Team Championship.

However, The Hart Foundation eventually fell apart, and Jim teamed up with Owen Hart. Despite often being at odds with “Hit Man”, the two reunited and formed a new “Hart Foundation” in 1997 which consisted of Brian Pillman, Davey Boy Smith, Owen, Bret and Neidhart. After a series of infamous events in the Survivor Series of 1997, Jim left WWE for World Championship Wrestling, where he formed a tag team with The British Bulldog. Due to mis-management, the two had little success as a team, therefore Neidhart started his part-time appearances which lasted until appearing in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling in November 2009, where he defeated Jay Lethal.

Highlights of Jim’s career include being a two-time WWF Tag Team Champion, and holding titles with Championship Wrestling from Florida, Professional Wrestling Federation, Stampede Wrestling, Mid-Eastern Wrestling Federation and Universal Wrestling Aliance.

Privately, Jim is married to Stu Hart’s daughter Ellie, and the couple has three daughters, including the WWE diva Natalie. In February 2007, Neidhart was inducted into the Legends Pro Wrestling “Hall of Fame”. He appears in the “Hart & Soul: The Hart Family Anthology” DVD set, which was released by WWE in April 2010.
