James Glickenhaus was born on the 24th July 1950, in New York City, USA, and is an actor, film producer, director and writer, best known to the world for directing and writing such action and horror films as “The Exterminator” (1980), “The Soldier” (1982), “Slaughter of the Innocents” (1993), and “Timemaster” (1995), among others. His career started in the mid- ‘70s.

He made his debut in the ‘70s with the horror “Suicide Cult”, after which he scored the horror “The Astrologer” (1975). Five years later he struck the film scene with the action film “The Exterminator”, starring Robert Ginty, Christopher George and Samantha Eggar. He continued in the same genre, directing and writing “The Soldier” (1982), with Ken Wahl, Alberta Watson and Jeremiah Sullivan, and really came to prominence in 1985 when he chose Jackie Chan to star in his new action film “The Protector”. Three years later he acquired the services of Peter Weller, Sam Elliott, and Richard Brooks for the action film “Shakedown”, then created several more films, including “McBain” (1991) with Christopher Walken, Maria Conchita Alonso and Michael Joseph DeSare, then “Slaughter of the Innocents” (1993), and “Timemaster” (1995), which starred his son Jesse Cameron-Glickenhaus. James then retired from the film industry in the mid- 90s.
Aside from creating his own films, James served as producer on a number of others, including “Maniac Cop” (1988), “Ring of Steel” (1994), and “Tough and Deadly” (1995), which also improved his wealth.
James subsequently became General Partner/Managing Director of Glickenhaus & Co, a Wall Street firm, while he also serves as a fund manager on Wall Street.
Regarding his personal life, James is father to Jesse Cameron-Glickenhaus and Veronica Cameron-Glickenhaus but although he has been married for more than 40 years, the name of his wife is unknown in the media.
James is an avid race-car collector and has more than 15 rare vehicles, primarily Ferraris, including Ferrari P4/5, 1947 Ferrari 159 S Spyder Corsa, 1967 Ferrari 412 P, among others. He is also the director of automobile manufacturing company Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus, which so far has manufactured three series of sports cars.
