Hugh Douglas Wiki Biography

Hugh Lamont Douglas was born on 23 August 1971, in Mansfield, Ohio USA, and is a retired professional American Football player, known for having played in the National Football League (NFL) with several teams. He is also a former football analyst for ESPN, and all of his efforts have helped put his net worth to where it is today.

How rich is Hugh Douglas? As of early-2017, sources estimate a net worth that is at $10 million, mostly earned through a successful career in professional football. He played for teams such as the New York Jets, Philadelphia Eagles, and Jacksonville Jaguars, being named as 1995’s Defensive Rookie of the Year, and all of these achievements ensured the position of his wealth.

Hugh attended Mansfield Senior High School, and after matriculating went to Central State University. He studied elementary education and also played for the school’s football team for three years, making 42 sacks in 32 games. He helped the school get an NAIA national championship during his second year and he was also named Defensive Player of the Year by The Pigskin Club of Washington D.C during his senior year.

He entered the 1995 NFL Draft and was selected during the first round by the New York Jets. He would be part of the team for three years before being traded to the Philadelphia Eagles in 1998. He then stayed with the Eagles until 2003 when his contract ended, and he signed for a year with the Jaguars. Around this time his net worth was constantly increasing. After a year with Jacksonville, he returned to Philadelphia in 2004; he would eventually rank as fourth overall in terms of all-time sacks for the Eagles. In 2005, he was cut from the main roster but was then put into one of the team’s front office as the “Good-Will Ambassador”.

He was also employed by WTXF-TV and became an on-air reporter. He became a regular radio personality in the station 610 WIP too, and in 2011, he became a co-host of the Six Nations Championship Rugby show on BBC America. During his time with the show, he did interviews, tried the sport, and even took an Irish step-dancing lesson. A few months later, he was hired by ESPN as an NFL Studio Analyst, and became part of several shows including “First Take” and “Sports Center”, for which his net worth continued to increase. The following year, he became a full-time analyst at “Numbers Never Lie” alongside Jalen Rose. However, in 2013 he was fired because of a racist comment, calling Michael Smith a “house nigga”. Douglas now works as part of the radio station 92.9 “The Game”.

For his personal life, it is also known that Douglas has married twice, firstly to Ayanna Archie with whom he has a daughter, and currently to Simona Brown. Hugh has been in several altercations over the course of his career; in 2005, he clashed with former teammate Terrell Owens which led to Owens being suspended by the team. He was also recently arrested for third degree assault after it was proven that he physically hurt his (supposed) girlfriend.
