Heidi Klum Wiki Biography
Heidi Klum was born on 1 June 1973, in Bergisch Gladbach, North Rhine Westphalia, (then) West Germany, and is known as a model, TV producer, fashion designer, screenwriter and businesswoman, who came to prominence by featuring on the cover of Vogue magazine’s edition in several European countries, and worldwide by appearing in Sports Illustrated’s renowned swimsuit edition.
So how rich is Heidi Klum, as of mid-2017? Authoritative sources estimate that Heidi has been able to gain a net worth of over $70 million during a career now spanning over 25 years, and is one of the most known and popular models from Germany. According to reports, Heidi’s assets include her home in Beverly Hills valued at more than $13 million, replacing the two villas she previously had in Los Angeles.
Heidi Klum was raised in a middle class family by her mother Erna, a hairdresser, and father Gunther an executive with a cosmetics company. Heidi started her career as a model in 1992, being selected as the winner of the competition “Model 92”, ahead of 250,000 other contestants, subsequently being offered a US 300,000 dollar modelling contract by Thomas Zeumer, CEO of Metropolitan Models New York, a great start to her net worth. Klum was also invited on to the “Gottschalk Late Night Show” with popular host Thomas Gottschalk – and after matriculating from high school moved to New York.
Heidi started her career as a model working for Elle, Vogue and even Sports Ilustrated magazines, in particular modelling many types of swimsuits. Most impressively, she became one of the select group of Angels for Victoria’s Secret. She was even a host of Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show several times – in years 2002, 2006 and 2007, and then her latest appearance was in 2009. These appearances as a host increased Heidi Klum‘s estimated net worth, but it was not the end – in total she worked for Victoria’s Secret for more than 13 years.
She nowadays works as a fashion designer, and her activities are closely associated with the Otto catalogue. Furthermore, Heidi also works as a shoe designer for the famous Birkenstock brand, and designs jewellery and swimsuits.
Aside from her main work, in 2013 Klum became the fourth judge on “America’s Got Talent” alongside Howie Mandel, Mel B, and Simon Cowell. Also, she has been a guest columnist several times on the German television network RTL’s website. She was a judge of “Germany’s Next Top Model”, and the reality show “Project Runway” winning an Emmy Award in 2013. She appeared in the films “Blow Dry” in 2001, and “Ella Enchanted” in 2004, plus TV shows such as “Sex and the City”, “Desperate Housewives” and “How I Met Your Mother”. Additionally, she is something of an artist and has been displayed in several art magazines. Heidi was also co-author of “Heidi Klum’s Body of Knowledge” with Alexandra Postman, Elle magazine editor, largely an autobiography released in 2004. No doubt these projects all added to her net worth.
As to her interesting personal life, Heidi married Ric Pipino, a stylist in 1997, but they divorced in 2002. She subsequently married musician Seal in 2005, having previously announced a pregnancy while dating Italian Flavio Briatore, Renault’s Formula One team director. Klum and Seal have two sons and a daughter, but despite renewing their vows every year, divorced in 2012, and Klum resumed her maiden name. She was subsequently in a relationship with her bodyguard Martin Kristen for two years, but has recently been dating Vito Schnabel, an art curator.
The net worth of Heidi Klum also lets her work for charity. She is an active supporter of UNICEF and the Aids Foundation, and assisted the Red Cross in relief work after Hurricane Sandy in 2012, being rewarded with a Crystal Cross Award.

Heidi Klum Quotes
- Would it be nice if my skin and body still looked the way it did when I was 25? Sure. But the fact is, your body changes when you have children; you get wrinkles as you get older. I like that I have laugh lines from smiling too much.
- I’ve been heartbroken. I’ve broken hearts. That’s part of life, and its part of figuring out who you are so you can find the right partner.
- You shouldn’t wait for other people to make special things happen. You have to create your own memories.
- I’d say I’m a good cook. I have a lot of German recipes that I can make – schnitzel, meatballs and things with cabbage. I love cabbage.
- Seal and I feel very lucky that we found each other. He’s my best friend. He would never go in through a door first. He always opens the door for me and steps back so I walk through.
- When I came to America, I was really into all the things people eat here. . . . People called me Muffin because I would eat muffins all the time.
- I believe that when you put a smile out there, you get a smile back.
- Going blonde is like buying yourself a light bulb!
- Michael J. Fox is a great, sexy, funny, short man. I had so much fun on that show [Spin City (1996)]. There was this scene where we were lying in bed together after sex. But instead of having a cigarette, I start yodeling, because I’m German, see? He kept making me laugh, we were cracking up.
- I’m very lucky. As I get a lot of role because of my name as a model and I probably wouldn’t have got them without it. You have to make the best of your situation.
