According to sources, it is estimated that the total amount of Heather Langenkamp’s net worth, as of early 2017, exceeds the sum of $1.5 million, acquired through her career in the movie-making industry which has been active since 1983.

Heather was born to an artist Mary Alice and a petroleum attorney Robert Dobie Langenkamp and, besides American, is of Scottish, English and German descent. After finishing Holland Hall School in her hometown, she transferred to Washington D.C where she enrolled at the National Cathedral School from which she matriculated in 1982. Heather debuted as an actress in 1983 when she appeared in Francis Ford Coppola‘s crime drama “The Outsiders”. Subsequently, in 1984 she briefly appeared in “Nickel Mountain” as well as in “Passions”, a TV movie. The real breakthrough in Heather’s acting career occurred later in 1984 when Wes Craven chose her for the role of Nancy Thompson, a teen heroine in his horror movie “A Nightmare on Elm Street”, also featuring young Johnny Depp; the movie gained real commercial success with over $25 million at the box office. The latter engagement provided the basis for Langenkamp’s net worth and also helped her to establish herself as a prominent young actress.

In 1987, Heather reprised her role of Nancy Thompson in franchise’s sequel – “A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors”. Between 1988 and 1990, she starred in ABC’s sitcom “Growing Pains” as well as in its spin-off TV series “Just the Ten of Us” in which she portrayed Marie Lubbock, one of the three main protagonists. In 1994, Heather Langenkamp appeared as herself in another Wes Craven motion picture – “New Nightmare”, and subsequently in the role of Nancy Kerrigan in “Tonya & Nancy: The Inside Story”, a sport drama based on the true story about two USA Olympic Ice Skating Team archrivals. After brief appearances in “JAG” TV series in 2002, Langenkamp took a break from acting in order to concentrate on her family life. In 2007, she returned to acting with an appearance in the indie documentary “The Bet”. Ever since, she has maintained a continuous streak of acting credits, appearing in “The Butterfly Room” (2012) and “Home” (2016) movies, as well as in “American Horror Story” and “The Bay” TV series.
