Harry Shum Jr. was born on the 28th April 1982, in Limón, Costa Rica. He is a dancer and actor well known for his role of Mike Chang portrayed in the series “Glee” (2009 – 2015). In addition to acting, Harry Shum adds sums to his wealth as a choreographer, singer, producer and director. He has been active in the entertainment industry since 2002.

How much is the net worth of Harry Shum Jr.? Reportedly, the wealth of the celebrity is equal to $14 million, as of late 2015, accumulated from his multi-faceted career in the entertainment industry.

To give some background facts, Harry’s mother is originally from Hong Kong whereas his father comes from Guangzhou, China. When the boy was six, the family moved to San Francisco, California, USA. Harry Shum speaks Spanish, Cantonese and English. He says he was influenced by such dancers as Usher, Dru Hill, Ginuwine and even Michael Jackson. Shum started his career as a dancer in the television show “Comic View” (2002) aired on BET. More, he was a lead dancer in the shows of such singers as Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Carey and Beyonce. Later, he rose to fame starring in the musical comedy drama series “Glee” (2009 – 2015). He was nominated eleven times for the above mentioned role, three of which he won: East West Players Visionary Award for the Breakout Performance, another two awards Harry shared with the cast – Screen Actors Guild Award for the Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series as well as Gay People’s Choice Award for the Favourite Music Duo or Group. It is worth mentioning that the cast of the television series has released 16 soundtracks, six compilation albums and 11 extended plays. Undoubtedly, the high popularity of “Glee” helped to increase the wealth of Harry Shum and other members of the cast.

Meanwhile, Harry was in the main cast of the romantic comedy film “Our Family Wedding” (2010) directed by Rick Famuyiwa, and then appeared in the 3D dance film “Step Up 3D” (2010) directed by Jon M. Chu. To add more, he starred alongside Booboo Stewart in the drama comedy “White Frog” (2012) directed by Quentin Lee.
