Haloti Ngata Wiki Biography

Etuini Haloti Ngata was born on 21 January 1984, in Inglewood, California USA, of Tongan ancestry. Haloti is a professional American football player, known for playing as a defensive tackle in the National Football League (NFL). He’s been active in the league since 2006, and all of his efforts have helped put his net worth to where it is today.

How rich is Haloti Ngata? As of late-2017, sources estimate a net worth that is at $10 million, earned through success in professional football, playing for both the Baltimore Ravens and the Detroit Lions. He’s also been selected for the Pro Bowl five times throughout his career. As he continues playing, it is expected that his wealth will also continue to increase.

Haloti attended Highland High School in Salt Lake City, and during his time there played with the school’s football team on the defensive line, and helped his team get to the state quarterfinals. He was the 2001 Utah Gatorade Player of the Year and also played in the US Army All-American Bowl the following year. He was listed as the number 2 overall prospect in the country, and chose to play with the University of Oregon after matriculating. He played with the Oregon Ducks but had to miss out the 2003 season due to an ACL tear. After his return, he became one of the best players in college football, and the Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Year.

Ngata had to leave Oregon early to take care of his mother, and would later join the 2006 NFL Draft. He was selected as the 12th overall pick by the Baltimore Ravens, and after a brief contract holdout, signed a $14 million 5-year deal with the Ravens. He started in all games during his rookie season, and continued to play well in the next few years, getting his first Pro Bowl selection in 2009. The following year, his statistics improved significantly, and so his net worth also continued to grow over the years. In 2010, Ngata was selected to be a part of the All-Fundamentals Team by the NFL Players Association, and the following season, the Ravens put the franchise tag on him, and he was later signed to another deal worth $61 million for five years.

Haloti’s net worth was boosted considerably thanks to the new contract, and his consistent performances would continue to help the Ravens to wins – he finished the 2011 season with a career high 64 tackles, and earned his third straight Pro Bowl appearance. During the next season, he played as both defensive tackle and defensive end, helping the team reach and win Super Bowl XLVII against the San Francisco 49ers. His tenure with the Ravens ended in 2014, when he was traded to the Detroit Lions, but struggled during the first half of the season due to injury. He would bounce back, and was given a $12 million two year contract with the Lions, although his playing time in 2016 was also limited due to a shoulder injury.

His father passed away from a car accident in 2002 while his mother passed away from chronic kidney disease in 2006.
