Guillaume Canet Quotes

  • You need to feed yourself with emotions and life or you’ll become empty.
  • [on Marion Cotillard] Most of the time, you work with actresses who are protecting themselves. They’re scared of how they’re going to look. Marion doesn’t care how she looks or sounds. You can ask her to do anything and she’ll follow you. I’m not saying this because I have a special relationship with her. I’m saying it because I mean it. She’s really special.
  • “Jumping, it was my destiny. I lived for the horses”. (about his brief horse-rider career).
  • As for what I’d like to be in the future, it is easy : I’d like to be an actor who can choose the movies he wants to do. I don’t want to do stuff that doesn’t appeal to me, just for money. I want to be the one who chooses my roles.
  • The guy who really wants to gain people’s attention needs to believe in himself and not wonder too much. Actually, I think he must follow his instincts and try to know who he is talking to and use this feeling to know if he is compatible with the person in front of him. If not, well, forget it: it really is about feeling comfortable. (on an acting career)
  • I like to do things passionately, not under control.
  • I think that what I prefer about my job is meeting people because it usually leads to projects and creations.
