Graham Stuart Beckel was born on the 22nd December 1949, in Old Lyme, Connecticut USA, and is an actor, best known to the world as Dick Stensland in the film “L.A. Confidential” (1997), then as L.D. Newsome in “Brokeback Mountain”, and as Lieutenant Graves in “Nocturnal Animals” (2016), among many other differing appearances.
Have you ever wondered how rich Graham Beckel is, as of mid- 2017? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that Beckel’s net worth is as high as $2 million, earned through his successful career in the entertainment industry, which started in the ‘70s.
Graham is the older son of Cambridge Graham Beckel, Jr and his wife Ellen Gilliland, the other son being political analyst and pundit Bob Beckel.
Graham’s career started in 1973 with the role of Franklin Ford III in the Oscar Award- winning comedy drama film “The Paper Chase”, and since then has appeared in more than 100 film and TV titles. Although his roles are many, most of those appearances were minor roles, without great influence on the film or TV series or his net worth. However, he did have several notable appearances. In 1989 he featured as Richard Doolan in the drama “Lost Angels”, then as Oscar in the Golden Globe Award- nominated drama “O Pioneers!” (1992), starring Jessica Lange, David Stratharin and Tom Alderedge. Just three years later he appeared in the Oscar Award- winning romantic drama “Leaving Las Vegas”, starring Nicolas Cage, Elisabeth Shue and Julian Sands, then in 1997 he had the role of Dick Stensland in the Oscar Award- winning mystery drama “L.A. Confidential”, while the following year, Graham featured in the action film “Black Dog”, with Patrick Swayze, Meat Loaf and Randy Travis in the lead roles. So his net worth rose steadily.
Nothing changed for Graham in the early 2000s, as he obtained a number of new roles in both successful and unsuccessful films and TV series. In 2001 he had a minor role in the historical action drama “Pearl Harbor”, with Ben Affleck, Kate Beckinsale and Josh Hartnett as the stars of the film, then in 2005 portrayed L.D. Newsome in the romantic drama “Brokeback Mountain”, starring Jake Gyllenhaa, and Heath Ledger, while in 2006 he played Frank in the sci-fi drama “The Astronaut Farmer”. His next notable role was in the sci0fi mystery “Atlas Shrugged: Part I” in 2011, in which he played Ellis Wyatt, while in 2013 he had the role of American lawyer and politician Edwin Stanton in the biopic about President Abraham Lincoln, entitled “Killing Lincoln”, next to Tom Hanks, Reagan Wilson and Billy Campbell.
In recent years, Graham portrayed Nathan Cardiff in seven episodes of the TV drama series “Halt & Catch Fire” (2014-2016), and he was Lieutenant Graves in the thriller “Nocturnal Animals” (2016), starring Amy Adams, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Michael Shannon. Furthermore, he featured in the romantic drama “Rules Don’t Apply” (2016), and will appear in the TV crime-drama series “When the Streets Lights Go On”, which is currently in post-production and is scheduled for release later this year.
Regarding his personal life, Graham has been married to Elizabeth Briggs Bailey since 1984.
