Geoffrey Owens, born on the 18th of March, 1961, is an American actor, director and teacher, who became famous for his role in the hit television show “The Cosby Show” in the 1980s.

So how much is Owens’ net worth? As of mid-2017, based on authoritative sources it is reported to be $500,000, acquired from his years working as an actor in both film and television.

Born in Brooklyn, New York City, Owens is the son of Major Owens, a former US Congressman, and Ether Werfel Owens. He attended Arcata High School where he discovered his love for acting, and later on graduated from Yale University.

Owens’ career started in the ‘80s and he immediately hit it off when he became part of “The Cosby Show”. He joined the hit sitcom in its last five seasons, playing the role of Elvin Tibideaux. He stayed with the show until 1992 and it opened up other opportunities for him, as well as his performance in the show earning him a Young Artist Award in 1989, and a TV Land Award in 2011. “The Cosby Show” helped his career and also his net worth tremendously.

After the hit show, Owens appeared in various television series, and once again became a regular in a new show entitled “Built to Last”, in which he appeared for eight episodes. In 2007, Owens made his directing debut when he directed the episode “Side Effects May Include Night Terrors” of the TV series “Life from the Inside”, which opened another door, and contributed to his net worth.

Another one of Owens’ most memorable performances came in the 2008 movie “Play The Game”., in which he appeared alongside Andy Griffith, Paul Campbell, Liz Sheridan and Doris Roberts in the romantic comedy.

After “Play the Game”, Owens went back to television, and appeared in “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”, “The Left Overs”, “The Affair”, and “The Slap” during the next several years, adding consistently to his net worth.
