Gabe Rygaard was born on 3 August 1971, in Port Angeles, Washington State USA, and was a reality TV star, best known to the world for appearing in the History channel`s TV series “Ax Men” (2009-2016). Unfortunately, he passed away on 16th September 2016, as a result of a fatal vehicle accident.

Little is known about Gabe`s early life and education, however, it is known that he was the son of Craig Rygaard, who started the Rygaard Logging company in 1992, and that he had two brothers, Jason and Burt.

Gabe joined “Ax Men” in its second season in 2008, and stayed on the show until his passing. That same year he took over the chair at Rygaard Logging, after his father decided to retire. Thanks to the success of the logging company, Gabe`s net worth soared from his inheritance and the continued success of the company. However, another important source was to be his appearance in the History channel`s reality show. The series featured several other logging companies and their operations, and attracted the attention of over a million viewers per episode in each season of the series run, to the dangers men such as Gabe experience during their operations to bring timber from the forests to the many construction, and other companies which utilize wood. As the producers were becoming more and more satisfied with the show, they would renew it for a new season, which meant a new contract for Gabe each time, increasing further his net worth.

Gabe had also become involved in local politics after the TV series ended, as he ran for the spot of Clallam County Commissioner, however, his campaign had been unsuccessful.

The show eventually ended in March 2016, and several months later, Gabe tragically died in a vehicle accident near his home in Port Angeles. He was thrown  from his vehicle after he hit the car in front of him, and then spun into the path of an approaching vehicle – also, police reported that his safety belt was undone. He suffered life threatening injuries, and succumbed to them in the nearby Olympic Medical Centre, on 16 September 2016.
