The father of Funkmaster Flex was also a DJ and sound system professional named Aston George Taylor Sr. Flex began his career as a DJ being 16 years old. After a few years he was employed working for the radio station Kiss-FM, and later moved to WBLS-FM station. In the 1990’s Funkmaster Flex started live radio broadcasts from the clubs in which he was mixing. Then, everything evolved into a rap program on the Hot 97 radio station which was hosted by Flex himself. Thus, working on the radio added significant sums to the net worth of Funkmaster Flex.
