Fredro Starr Wiki Biography

The rapper and diversified actor Fredro Starr was born on 18th April 1971, in South Jamaica, New YorkCity USA of African-American ethnicity. Originally named Fredro Scruggs, he improvised his name when he entered Hollywood. Fredro is possibly best known as a member of the hip-hop group Onyx during the ’90s and early 2000s.

How rich is Fredro Starr? His estimated net worth is now over $2 million, his wealth being solely based on his talent in east coast hip hop and hard core hip hop music. However, unlike other celebrities, Fredro does not invest in real estate, but has a predilection for cars, and has a mind-boggling collection of luxury cars ranging from coupes to SUV’s which, if valued, may well raise the value of his net worth.

Fredro’s career commenced when he started his rap and hip hop music group in 1990 which he named “Onyx”, and was assisted by two others, namely Sticky Fingaz and SoneeSeeza. Together the trio performed for the first time on their album“Bacdafucup” in 1993, via UNI/Def Jam Records. “Bacdafucup” was certified platinum by the RIAA in October 1993. However, the success did not last long and Onyx temporarily broke up after the release of their album “Shut ‘Em Down” (Def Jam) in 1998.

Since then he has done some notable works in his general field, the most famous ones are Paramount in 2000 and the famous MTV film “Save the Last Dance” in 2001, and “Light It Up” (1999). He also worked on the HBO’s TV movie “Strapped” in 1993, and appeared as Quentin in WB’s television show as Moesha from 1996 to 2001. All made contributions to his net worth.

Post the disintegration of the group Onyx, Starr went solo and released numerous albums that bought him laurels “Firestarr” (2001), “Don’t Get Mad Get Money” (2003) and the recent one “Firestarr 2” (#FS2) (2013). However, in 2001 Onyx reunited and released “Bacdafucup Part II.”

Apart from direct involvement in music, Fredro’s other source of income is his multi-faceted entertainment entity, OPM (Other People’s Money).

Starr entered into a verbal combat with Curtis James Jackson III better known as 50 cents at Vibe awards in 2003. According to a well-known magazine the scuffle was initiated when the latter made some disrespectful remarks for Onyx. Starr maintained that 50 Cent should be grateful to Onyx considering the fact that the group provided him his debut album, “Shut ‘Em Down (Def Jam)” in 1998. Later the media zeroed in upon him with the DMX controversy in 2012-13.

In his personal, often very private life, Fredro Starr married Korina Longin, a well-known Croatian model in 2007 at a private event outside the knowledge of their parents, but they divorced within a year.

Starr has a lot of love and warmth for his native South Jamaica that indeed is one of the most pleasant areas of New York. He is extremely fond of his parental house and therefore has asked for the renovation of the same. Quite close to nature the house rejuvenates his spirits with its scenic beauty.
