Despite being born in Italy, Crudele grew up in Montreal, Canada after his family migrated during his childhood. Frank studied modern languages and received a bachelor’s degree in Italian Literature from Concordia University in 1977. He went on to make his acting debut in ‘‘Brown Bread Sandwiches’’, portraying Marco in 1989, then joined the cast of ‘‘Las Chicas de Hoy en Día’’ for one episode, and in 1992 starred in ‘‘Vita da Cane’’, alongside Joseph Di Mambro and Deborah Duchene. As of the following year, he could be seen as Passerby in ‘‘Life With Mickey’’, which remains one of his most prominent projects as of today, and during the same year, he worked on an episode of ‘‘Highlander’’. In the following period, in 1995 he played one of the major characters in ‘‘A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes: The Annette Funicello Story’’, focused on the life of the American pop singer, and it received a mostly positive response from the critics and audience. Crudele then joined the cast of ‘‘Gotti’’, an award winning biography movie, which earned a Primetime Emmy and an Eddie Award, given by American Cinema Editors. Frank then portrayed Stingo in ‘‘The Don’s Analyst’’ in 1997, and in the same year worked in seven episodes of ‘‘Omertà II – La Loi du Silence’’. In 1999, the audience could see him in ‘‘Vendetta’’ and in ‘‘The Life Before This’’, before he played father Nicola in ‘‘Lives of the Saints’’, working side by side with Sophia Loren and Fab Filippo in 2004 – the film ended up earning awards such as DGC Craft Award and Gemini Award, and all contributed steadily to his net worth.
As of 2005, Frank landed the starring role of Pietro Melluso in ‘‘Gente Di Mare’’ and continued working on that project over the course of the next two years, then joined the cast of ‘‘Fuga con Marlene’’ in 2007, and after that played Silvano in ‘‘Cobardes’’, the movie focused on the story of a teenager bullied at school, ultimately winning two awards – the Critics, and Special Mention. In 2009, Crudele could be seen in five episodes of ‘‘Los Hombres de Paco’’, a critically appraised comedy crime series, and in the upcoming year portrayed Senatore in ‘‘La Vita è una Cosa Meravigliosa’’. Throughout the following period, Crudele had several minor roles in movies and on television, but most importantly in 2014, he played Boris in ‘‘Step Up All In’’, a dance film which, despite getting mediocre reviews, grossed over $86 million at the box office.
