Evan Handler Wiki Biography

Evan Handler was born on 10 January 1961, in New York City, USA, of Jewish descent, and is an actor, best known for being part of the series “Californication” as the agent Charlie Runkle. He’s also played the divorce attorney Harry Goldenblatt in the series “Sex and the City”, but all of his efforts have helped put his net worth to where it is today.

How rich is Evan Handler? As of early-2017, sources estimate a net worth that is at $8 million, mostly earned through a successful career in acting. He’s appeared in numerous television shows and has also landed several film roles. As he continues his career which began in the early 1980s, it is expected that his wealth will also continue to increase.

Handler attended Hendrick Hudson High School, and matriculated a year early, after which he moved to New York City, and would become part of Chelsea Theater Center as an intern. He would appear in several off-Broadway plays including “Strider: The Story of a Horse” and “Biography: A Game”. He then attended the Juilliard School, and became part of the Drama Division’s “Group 12” which at that time included future star Kevin Spacey. He then left the program after two years to become part of the film “Taps”.

Since then, he’s appeared in numerous sitcoms and series, including “Friends’, “Sex and the City”, “Miami Vice”, “Ed”, “Six Feet Under” and “24”. He became the co-star of the series “It’s Like You Know…” which was about life in Los Angeles through the eyes of a New Yorker. He also appeared in the series “Hot Properties” which was often compared to “Sex and the City” and “Designing Women”. Afterwards, he starred in the sitcom “Woops!” which was short lived, but all contributed to his net worth.

Evan has also had a few film projects since “Taps”; these include “The Chosen” which is based on a bestseller of the same name, and would win three awards during the Montreal World Film Festival. He also appeared in the film “Ransom” which was a major financial and critical success. Evan’s net worth was steadily increasing at this point.

In 2000, he then portrayed Larry Fine for the television biopic of “The Three Stooges” before becoming a part of “Californication”. He’s also had a recurring role in “American Crime Story: The People v O.J. Simpson”.

Aside from acting, Handler authored the book “Time on Fire: My Comedy of Terrors” which talked about his battle with acute myeloid leukemia during his mid-20s. He followed it up with “Only Temporary…The Good News and the Bad News of Being Alive” which talks about his life after the illness. He’s also written for high profile magazines including “ELLE” and “The Oprah Magazine”, and is a regular contributor to “The Huffington Post”. His writing efforts have helped in building his net worth too.

For his personal life, it is known that Handler married chemist Elisa Atti in 2003, and they have a daughter. His brother Lowell Handler is the author of the book “Twitch & Shout: A Touretter’s Tale” and the star of the documentary “Twitch & Shout”.
