Erica Durance Wiki Biography
Erica Durance was born on 21 June 1978, in Calgary, Alberta Canada, and is an actress as well as a television producer. Erica Durance is perhaps best recognized for her on-screen appearances, starring in such films as “The Butterfly Effect 2” with Dustin Milligan, “House of the Dead”, and “Island Heat: Stranded”, and has been credited for her contributions to “Smallville”, the television series “Charlie’s Angels”, as well as “The Chris Isaak Show” in addition to many others.
So just how rich is Erica Durance? Authoritative sources estimate that as of mid-2016, Erica Durance’s net worth amount to more than $2.5 million, the majority of Erica’s wealth having come from her appearances on television during a career in the entertainment industry now spanning over 15 years.
Following matriculation from high school, Erica Durance moved to Vancouver in order to follow her dream of becoming an actress. Durance studied at The Yaletown Actors Lab, and although initially only receiving minor work offers, she eventually began appearing in various commercials, before moving to star in films and television productions. Erica’s major breakthrough came in 2004, when she was offered the role of Ashley in “The Chris Isaak Show”, a sitcom that featured famous rock musician Chris Isaak, and which then opened many other acting opportunities for Durance. Erica continued her acting career with minor roles in “Andromeda” with Kevin Sorbo and the supernatural drama series “The Collector”, until that same year she landed the role of Lois Lane in the science fiction-drama series “Smallville”, developed by Alfred Gough, and co-starring alongside famous actors including Tom Welling, Kristin Kreuk, Allison Mack and John Schneider. The popular television series has now been on air for 10 seasons with a total of 218 episodes released, and with average viewers totalling 4.3 million per episode, it is unquestionable that “Smallville” is extremely popular among its audience. Needless to say, Erica Durance’s role in the series has broadened her acting perspectives, as well as contributing to her net worth.
After seven seasons in “Smallville”, Erica Durance starred in an episode of the short-lived and highly criticized television series “Charlie’s Angels” with Minka Kelly and Rachael Taylor. In 2012, Durance made a guest appearance in “Harry’s Law”, a legal comedy-drama series created by David E. Kelley, with Kathy Bates, Karen Olivo and Mark Valley in the main roles. The same year Durance joined the cast of “Saving Hope”, a supernatural medical drama focused on Dr. Alex Reid who is played by Durance. The show has been renewed for the third season, so the viewers will get to see a lot more of Erica Durance’s character; she has been nominated for a Saturn Award, Teen Choice Award, and Canadian Screen Awards Academy for Best Actress.
Durance has featured in over 15 films, and a similar number of TV productions. Erica has also appeared on a list of Canada’s “50 Most Beautiful People” and “Summer 2012 Hottest Women of TV” list.
In her personal life, Erica was married to Wesley Parker (1996-99), and has been married to Canadian actor, writer and director David Palffy since January 2005, and with whom she has two sons. The family is now based in Vancouver.
