Eric Singer Wiki Biography
Eric Doyle Mensinger or more popularly known as Eric Singer, was born on 12 May 1958, is an American musician who became famous for playing the drums for the rock ‘n’ roll band Kiss.
So how much is Singer’s net worth? As of late 2016, base on authoritative sources, it is $15 million, acquired from his years as a musician, playing drums for the band Kiss and other artists as well.
Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Singer came from a Jewish family. Music has always been in the family’s blood as his father, Johnny Mensinger worked as a big band leader, playing in and around Euclid, Ohio where he grew up and spent some time in cruise ships as well. With his father’s talent and the influence of his favourite rock bands growing up, he ended up playing drums at an early age.
Before turning professional, Singer started his career working at King Musical instruments. Not before long, he was then hired by a local band Beau Coup and decided to become a professional drummer. Although he didn’t immediately hit the big musical acts, this became the start of his professional career and also helped his net worth.
After playing with the local band, in 1984 Singer was able to become part of Lita Ford’s band to become part of her tour. After only one year, he was then hired by the band Black Sabbath. He replaced the bands former drummer Bill Ward and became part of two of the band’s album “Seventh Star” and “The Eternal Idol”. In 1989, Singer left the Black Sabbath and decided to be part of singer Paul Stanley’s band and join him in his tour. Despite not having a permanent band, playing with various artists still helped increase his wealth throughout the years.
Singer’s breakthrough came in 1991 when he became part of the rock ‘n’ roll band Kiss. When the band’s drummer, Eric Carr, passed away due to heart cancer, Singer was then tapped by Kiss to replace the late musician and officially became part of the band.
He became part of Kiss’ two albums “Revenge” and “Carnival of Souls: The Final Sessions” and also toured with the band around the world. After five years, Singer was replaced by the band’s original drummer Peter Criss.Despite the setback in his career, Singer decided to move forward and partnered with other musicians like Brian May, and continued playing the drums.
In 2001, Singer was once again asked by Kiss to become part of the group after they had a falling out with Criss. Since then, he continued to become the official drummer of the group even becoming part of Kiss’ 20th album “Monster”. His stint with Kiss not only catapulted him to success but also tremendously increased his net worth.
Aside from Kiss, Singer also has his own band called Eric Singer Project that released three albums throughout the years. He also recently became part of the jury for awards of watchmaking called the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG).
