Emily Sutton Wiki Biography

Emily Sutton was born on the 19th October 1981, in Chicago, Illinois USA, and is a weather anchor, meteorologist and storm chaser, currently working for KFOR-TV based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Have you ever wondered how rich Emily Sutton is, as of early 2018? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that Sutton’s net worth is as high as $700,000, an amount earned through her successful career in journalism active since 2007.

Raised in Chicago, she always had passion for exploring, and after finishing high school Emily enrolled at the University of Missouri, where she studied meteorology and journalism, and earned dual degrees in Atmospheric Science and Media Convergence Journalism, while also receiving high honors. During her studies, she was a part of the Storm Chase Team, and in 2004 had her first experience with a tornado. In addition to her degrees, Emily is also a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) with the American Meteorological Society, and a member of the National Weather Association. After completing her education, Emily started seeking a job, and in 2007 joined KMIZ-TV in Columbia, Missouri, her first on-air experience. However, she remained only a couple of months there as she then joined WCYB-TV in the Tri-Cities/Bristol, Tennessee, accepting a job as a meteorologist and also as a general assignment reporter. This served her well for her later career, as she honed her reporting skills, while also becoming aware of meteorological reports.

In 2009, Emily climbed to a level higher by joining the 4Warn Storm Team at KFOR-TV, becoming the first female meteorologist at the station. That year, Emily experienced how it was to cover one of the largest snowstorms that struck Oklahoma City, known as the Christmas Eve Blizzard. She has continued to work for the station, increasing her net worth, while becoming the most prominent of female storm chasers. In 2013 she covered a live chase of the historic May tornado outbreaks, and thanks partly to her endeavors, she and the rest of the storm chasing team won the National Emmy award. Her live coverage made it to such popular TV channels as CNN, MSNBC and The Weather Channel, while she also subsequently wrote articles for such magazines as “The New York Times Magazine, and “The 6th Floor”, among others, which also benefited her net worth.

Emily now serves as the first alternate for the Chief Meteorologist, and is the nightly weekend weather anchor, and the daily weekday weather anchor, which has in large part increased her net worth. Thanks to her successful reporting, Emily won the Best Meteorologist award in OKC by So6ix Magazine.

When it comes to her personal life, since 2016 Emily has been married to her colleague Mike Morgan.

She is also a well-known philanthropist having participated in the Ironman triathlons for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society organization.

When she is not in her job post, Emily enjoys traveling, dancing, and singing. She has performed the national anthem in front of thousands of people at the NASCAR track in Tennessee, and also for Oklahoma’s hockey and basketball teams.
