Elizabeth Irene Banks was born on 10th February 1974, in Pittsfield, Massachusetts USA, of Irish and British descent. She is known for her acting career, which includes roles in the “Spider-Man” trilogy and “The Hunger Games” films. She is also a producer and a director. She is considered one of the sexiest women in the world, being ranked number 39 by FHM UK, in 2010.

So just how rich is Elisabeth Banks? Sources estimate that Elizabeth’s net worth is $16.5 million, most of it having been made in the film industry, as an actress and a producer. She is present on the big screen and also in television series and one of the most wanted actresses in Hollywood. Her annual income was estimated at $5 million. She completes her earnings from endorsement contracts, from which the most famous is the one with L’Oreal Paris, which brings the actress $1 million a year.

Elizabeth graduated from high school in 1992. She has a bachelor degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Fine Arts from the American Conservatory Theater. She changed her name from Elizabeth Mitchell to avoid confusion with another actress. She had her first role in “Surrender Dorothy”, in 1998, and has had appearances in films like “Swept Away” and “The 40-Year-Old Virgin”. She had her first leading role in 2006, in “Slither”. Elizabeth Banks has appeared in more than 70 films and television series, including “The Hunger Games”, “W.”, “Every Secret Thing”, “Resident Advisors”, and “Modern Family”. Her voice can be heard in “Moonbeam City” and in “The Lego Movie”. She is known as the producer of “Pitch Perfect”, which grossed more than $200 million from sales and DVD sales, and “Pitch Perfect 2”, which grossed $259.7 million from ticket sales alone. In 2015 alone, Elizabeth Banks had important roles in three films and two television series and is involved in several projects with her production company, which will bring her important earnings to add to her net worth.

Elizabeth Banks was an executive producer for “Surrogates”, “The Greater Good” and the television series “Resident Advisors”.

Elizabeth Banks also performs on stage, mostly in productions by the American Conservatory Theatre. Besides these roles, she has also performed in “Summer & Smoke”, and in “Bus Stop”. She won a Young Hollywood Award in 2003, two MTV Music Awards in 2012 and 2014, and a Women in Film Crystal + Lucy Award in 2009. Elizabeth Banks was nominated twice for Emmy Awards.

She is also the spokeswoman for a company which provides online real estate services. Elizabeth and her husband own the company Brownstone Productions, through which the actress produces films. In 2015, the company signed deals with Universal Pictures and Warner Bros Television, as Elizabeth Banks plans to extend her activity as a producer for cinema and television.

In her personal life, Elizabeth Banks married Max Handelman in 2003. Her husband was a sportswriter, but he became a producer and works together with the actress at Brownstone Productions. The couple has two children, both born through a surrogate.

Elizabeth Banks Quotes

  • [in 2013, on going through the process of converting to her husband’s religion, Judaism] I did not have my mikveh, so technically I’m not converted . . . I’ve been essentially a Jew for like 15 years . . . I haven’t had a Christmas tree in 15 years . . . My kids go to Jewish pre-school, we only celebrate Jewish holidays, I love seder . . . When you live in a leading lady’s body, which I do, you have to constantly prove that you are funny.
  • I’m pleased that Hollywood hasn’t figured out how to pigeonhole me yet…”
  • I really think that we do a disservice to young people in America by not being more open about sex. Abstinence programs do not work. It’s a natural, physical thing having sex.
