Efrain Antonio Ramirez was born in Los Angeles, California USA on 2 October 1973, and is an actor and a disk jockey of Costa Rican and Salvadoran descent. Ramirez is well known for his role of Pedro Sanchez in the 2004 movie „Napoleon Dynamite“.

By the age 13 he had begun training at The Theatre of Arts, all throughout elementary and high school, and he thus performed at The Hollywood Bowl, The Complex Theatre, and The Tiffany Theatre on Sunset Boulevard. He continued training at The Whole Theatre Company, performing improv at The Whitefire Theatre, and The Icehouse, in Pasadena. He also finished a two-year Meisner Conservatory Program at The Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre in New York, USA.

Efren Ramirez’s career in the beginning consisted mainly of guest appearances on TV shows such as “E.R.”, “American Dad”, “Judging Amy”, “The District”, “Mad TV” and “Scrubs”. His famous role of Pedro Sanchez in “Napoleon Dynamite” (2004) was his successful breakthrough film, with some of his other roles being Jorge in “Employee of the Month” (2006), Carlos in “All You’ve Got” (2006), Bobby Verdugo in “Walkout” (2006), Kaylo in “Crank” (2006) and “Crank: High Voltage” (2009), and Hector in “American Summer” (2009), all of which contributed to his rising net worth. He also appeared in several minor roles.
