Dulymus Jenod McAllister Wiki Biography

Dulymus Jenod McAllister, born on 27 December 1978, is a former running back in the NFL, in which he played for the New Orleans Saints, having previously played for the University of Mississippi. He was a first round pick in the 2001 NFL Draft, and chosen to play in two Pro Bowls.

Have you ever wondered how rich Deuce McAllister is as of late 2016? According to authoritative sources, McAllister’s net worth is around $50,000; unfortunately, he is one of many professional football players who ended up losing most of their money in retirement, due to a number of failed businesses, in particular a Nissan dealership.

Raised in Ludlow, Mississippi, McAllister naturally attended college at Ole Miss. He found great success as a running back there, breaking a number of records, such as being the only player to ever play three seasons with at least 1,000 all-purpose yards. By the time his college career came to a close, he held records for most carries, most yards, most rushing touchdowns, total touchdown points, and 100-yard games. Such an amazing college career only boosted his potential worth going into the 2001 NFL Draft.

The New Orleans Saints selected McAllister in the first round, as the 23rd pick overall; shortly after, Ricky Williams was traded and McAllister became a starter. Over the next three seasons he rushed for over 1,000 yards, the first player in Saints’ history to do so. He also ranks first in the Saints’ record books for most rushing yards and rushing touchdowns.

McAllister didn’t just stick to running the ball however; on 9 December 2001 in a game against the Atlanta Falcons, he threw a touchdown pass, and is also the only Saints’ running back to be voted to the Pro Bowl in back-to-back seasons. In 2008 he achieved the Saints’ all-time rushing touchdown record. His career was interrupted in 2007 with an ACL rupture, but he made a successful return.

Unfortunately, due to salary cap problems, McAllister was released in February 2009, but he was re-signed the next year to serve as honorary captain during the 2010 playoffs, and although he didn’t play during Super Bowl XLIV, he was still awarded a championship ring. Capping off a successful NFL career with a Super Bowl ring was the perfect way to end it, and it all helped to add to his net worth.

Using the money he made during his career, he tried his hand at owning several business. Most of them failed however, most notably a Nissan dealership in Jackson, Mississippi. The dealership filed for bankruptcy in 2009 and Nissan Finance sued McAllister, which negatively affected his net worth. He currently spends his time as a color commentator on WWL, a radio flagship for the Saints in New Orleans.

In regards to his personal life, McAllister has been married to Danielle Tipton since 2008.

Besides his career in the NFL, McAllister also runs the Catch 22 Foundation, which is focused on helping under-privileged youth and adolescents in the Gulf South Region.
