Doyle Bramhall II Wiki Biography
Doyle Bramhall II was born on the 24th December 1968, in Dallas, Texas USA, and is a singer, songwriter, guitar playe, and producer, perhaps best known for founding the blues rock band Arc Angels as well as for his collaborations with such artists as Roger Waters and Eric Clapton, among many others. He is also recognized for being the son of famous drummer Doyle Bramhall.
Have you ever wondered how rich Doyle Bramhall II is? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that the total size of Doyle’s net worth is over $2 million as of late 2017, accumulated through his successful involvement in the music industry since 1984.
Doyle Bramhall II grew up in his hometown, raised by his father, Doyle Bramhall, Sr., a well-known drummer and songwriter. So under the influence of his father, when he was 18 years old, Doyle started pursuing a career in the music industry. Thanks to his father’s friendship with Jimmie Vaughn, Doyle joined The Fabulous Thunderbirds, fronted by Vaughn, but just two years later he started his own band – Arc Angels – with which he has released only two albums so far “Arc Angels” in 1992, and “Living in a Dream” (2009). The band was on hiatus from 1993 until 2009, and formally disbanded in 2010.
Once the Arc Angels went on hiatus, Doyle started collaborating with numerous musicians, but also decided to release a solo album, “Doyle Bramhall II” in 1996. The album received mixed reviews, with four stars given by Allmusic. Encouraged by this success, Doyle started working on his second solo album, entitled “Jellycream”, which also garnered success, both critically and commercially, which increased his wealth. Since the start of the 2000s, Doyle has released only two more solo albums, “Welcome” in 2001, and “Rich Man” in 2016, as he has primarily focused on working with other bands and musicians.
In 1999 he was on the “In the Flesh” tour with Roger Waters, replacing David Gilmour as a back- up singer and guitarist, and a live album was released in 2000. The same year he worked with Eric Clapton and B.B. King on the album “Riding with the King”, and then the following year he again collaborated with Clapton, this time on Clapton’s album “Reptile”, actually becoming a regular collaborator with Clapton, and can be found on many albums of this blues rock star, including “Black Home” (2005), “Clapton” (2010), “Old Sock” (2013), and most recently the live album “Live in San Diego” (2016), although the material was recorded back in 2007. Aside from Clapton, Doyle has frequently collaborated with Elton John, Sheryl Crow and his father Doyle Sr. Doyle has also worked with John Legend, Rodney Crowell, Willie Nelson, Jerry Lee Lewis and others, which has also contributed to his wealth.
Speaking about his personal life, Doyle Bramhall II was married to singer Susannah Melvoin (1997-2007), with whom he has a child. He was also in a relationship with singer Sheryl Crow in 2011 and later with Renée Zellweger in 2012. He currently resides in Los Angeles, California.
