Douglas John Booth Wiki Biography
Douglas John Booth was born on 9 July 1992, in Greenwich, London, England, to Vivien and Simon Booth, of English, Dutch and Spanish ancestry, and is an actor best known from playing Titus Abrasax in ‘‘Jupiter Ascending’’, and Mr. Bingley in ‘‘Pride and Prejudice and Zombies’’.
So just how rich is Douglas Booth as of early 2018? According to authoritative sources, this actor has a net worth of $2 million, with his wealth being accumulated from his over a decade long career in the mentioned field.
At the age of 10, Douglas moved to Sevenoaks, Kent and spent his formative years there. Suffering from dyslexia, he had difficulties reading and writing, and speaking later about his experience, he said that he ‘‘had to put in double or triple the amount of effort as everyone else’’, but added that as the result of dyslexia, he was more ‘‘resilient in every sense’’. He was interested in music and played the trumpet, and ultimately became more interested in acting. He was a student of the private Solefield School in Kent, and then at Bennett Memorial Diocesan School. He starred in ‘‘Agamemnon’’ in his school play, and stated that he felt like all the attention was on him, and he liked feeling engaged for the first time.
Booth made his professional acting debut with a major role in ‘‘Hunters of the Kahri’’, directed and written by Ali Paterson, then portrayed Sefton in ‘‘From Time To Time’’, an adventure drama movie but which received a mediocre response. In 2010, however, Douglass made his big breakthrough as he joined the cast of ‘‘The Pillars of the Earth’’, an appraised television series, and a total of nine episodes allowed him to be exposed further in the media. In the following year, he worked on the mini-series ‘‘Great Expectations’’, starring as Pip and working alongside Jack Roth and Ray Winstone, which received a mostly positive response from the audience. Douglas followed by portraying Kyle in ‘‘LOL’’ the next year, which focuses on a love story that builds up between Booth’s character and another main character, Lola. Despite receiving mixed to negative response from the critics, ‘‘Lol’’ was fairly popular among the young audience, so his net worth was rising steadily.
As of 2013, Douglas landed the main role in ‘‘Romeo and Juliet’,’ alongside Hailee Steinfeld, and although received a lukewarm response, won two IFMCA Awards in addition to being nominated for two more. In the upcoming year, Booth worked on ‘‘Noah’’, playing the role of Shem, which follows the Biblical story of the Old Testament patriarch Noah, and was nominated for a Golden Globe award and received mostly positive response from the audience and critics. In 2015, he starred in ‘‘Jupiter Ascending’’, an adventure movie created by The Wachowski sisters, then in 2016 Booth played one of his most important roles in ‘‘Pride and Prejudice and Zombies’’, which was loosely based on the book ‘‘Pride and Prejudice’’, playing Mr. Bingley. In 2017, he played one of the main characters in ‘‘Mary Shelley’’.
When it comes to his future projects, Booth has two ahead of him, ‘‘The Dirt’’, in which he’ll star and ‘‘Gore’’. To conclude, he has had 21 acting gigs so far.
In his private life, Douglas was in a relationship with Vanessa Kirby, however, they broke up in 2012. As of today, he lives in Bermondsey, London and shares his apartment with his older sister. Booth is active on social media such as Twitter and Instagram, and is followed by over 200,000 people on the former and more than 800,000 on the latter.

Douglas John Booth Quotes
- It was such a thrill to be 17 years old and standing on a stage dressed as Boy George – wearing his actual clothes from the 1980s. He told me, “We’re gonna be friends for life now!” and I truly hope that we are.
- I love the challenge of playing characters forced on life-changing emotional journeys. To work on a project with Billy Crudup and Sam Rockwell is just a dream come true.
- One of the biggest things I used to struggle with was about things like going on holiday. Whereas all your friends can talk about something and plan something all year long, I know that I’m probably going to be away and I’m going to miss all of it. If a job comes up, you just can’t be there.
- Sometimes a script comes along that really makes you sit up and pay attention… ‘Life at These Speeds’ has an emotional intensity that really kicked me in the guts.
- The negative about acting is that you have to spend a great deal of time away from your friends and loved ones, but it’s not like working a 9-5 job and only having two or three weeks off a year. I may not have seen my girlfriend for two or three months, but then we can spend two or three months together solidly.
- I was lucky enough to get a very good agent at the age of 15, and got my first film when I was 16, so it’s been rolling on since then.
- We live in a beauty-obsessed age and success sometimes appears to hinge solely on the presentation of an image that is acceptable to the press.
- I fell in love at 14 and I remember that mad, tense feeling and all the mad things you do for the person – all those extremes and all the stuff you don’t mind putting up with.
- I like to wake up late, around 11 A.M., especially if I have been out the night before. Then I go to brunch with either my friends or my girlfriend. I then like to just chill out: read the papers, read some scripts and then take it very easy. If it’s sunny, I go for a walk with my dog, Niles, in the countryside.
- On a Friday night, I like to go out because my friends, who have been working normal hours, just want to let go after a stressful week at work.
- It’s better to think of life as a proper journey with a beginning and an end. Maybe, I can settle for being immortalised on screen.
- For the moment, whenever I read, it is normally scripts. You start a book and then you think, ‘I should be reading these five scripts.’
- I dreamt of being an actor ever since I was young.
- I love to dance and dance all night long.
